I am about 7 weeks pregnant. I have actually lost a few pounds since I’ve found out I’m pregnant nothing crazy, just like 2-3lbs I’m guessing because of not drinking, declining dinners out with friends (we’re not telling them yet and me not having A glass of wine at dinner would be highly suspicious 🙂 and just honestly not feeling all that hungry. I only feel lieke eating a little bit at a time.
That being said my pants are super tight and I feel like I look a little pregnant. Is this bloating? Will it go away?Do I just need to deal with it and invest in a pair of maternity jeans or will I fit back in my old jeans before it really begins? To be clear I can wear my jeans they are just ridiculously uncomfortable…
Anyone have any experience with this?

At this point, it’s probably just bloating– what is your water intake like?
If you increase that to 6-8 glasses per day (that’s only 3-4 regular sized water bottles) you can flush out some of the sodium and things in your body that naturally cause bloating.
But of course– that’s only a short term fix, eventually it will be showing, and you’ll need new pants 🙂
Oh, and Congratuations!

I drink probably about 15 glasses of water a day. I already drink a lot of water, but lately I feel especially thirsty so I think I’ve been drinking even more than that!

It’s just bloating. Try investing in a be band/bella band. It will make your jeans so much more comfortable. I’m at 6 weeks (6 wks 4 days) and when I’m really bloated or if I’m attempting to wear jeans I’ll through on my Bella band. It makes a huge difference and you don’t have to button your pants.

My pants stopped fitting around 6 or 7 weeks and haven’t fit since. I bought a few non-maternity pants/shorts 1-2 sizes up, which got me through until I moved into maternity clothes. I figure I can wear the larger non-maternity clothes for awhile post-pregnancy. I also tried a Bella band but I didn’t really like it.

@Rose120: felt the same as you do now, and I was convinced I was showing. It turned out to be bloating, and I started to really show at about 14 weeks and on. I think that since only we know our bodies so well when we get pregnant and gain some weight we automatically notice the rapid changes in our body, however, these changes are usually only noticed by other later on. 🙂
