Hey blogger Bees, I have a question for you:
How do you post your posts on Weddingbee? Is there some kind of WordPress multi-user login that you use, write your posts, and then Mrs. Penguin or some other admin schedules them to go up? Do you email an admin your post, and they copy/paste it in and schedule it? Do they copy posts directly from your personal blog and re-host the images, edit the names to fit in with your WB monicker, etc.?
I’m curious because I’ve been following a few blogger Bees who are doing their recaps right now, and the posts go up on their personal blogs about a day before the identical post goes up on Weddingbee (with names changed and images re-hosted), which seems like some admin is copy and pasting the posts from the Bees’ personal blogs. I was thinking of applying to become a blogger Bee but I don’t want to post all the same posts to my blog as to Weddingbee. For example, I wouldn’t want to post my “oh my gosh I’m a bee!” post to my blog — no one who reads my blog knows what Weddingbee is and I’m sure they’d all be confused and bored (because they already know who I am, who my Fiance is, how we met, etc.). I wouldn’t want to re-write a post about my dress, because I picked that months ago, and I’d want to write a new, condensed version to post on Weddingbee. So if the way they get posts for Weddingbee is to copy and paste it directly from the blogger Bees’ blogs, then I don’t think being a Bee blogger would be right for me.
So, blogger Bees, how does it work?

They pull the posts from your personal blog, even the posts you’ve already done.

@waffle: Huh. So if I were a Bee and I wanted to post a different, past-tense summary of my dress shopping experience (like I’ve seen many Bees talk about their dress shopping, venue hunt, etc. everything they’ve gotten done pre-Bee time in the past tense and in what seems like a summarized form), I would have to post that to my blog and have them copy it over here?

@Kant: You wouldn’t HAVE to use your personal blog, persay.
I wrote all of my WB posts in a side blog that I used just for WB-related blogs (with ‘Hive’, ‘Bee’, ‘Mr. J’ wording) and then kept my personal blog.. personal.
Except, I put the recaps up on my own blog too, since those followers enjoyed reading them and seeing wedding pics, especially the ones who don’t lurk on Weddingbee.
Hope that makes sense! 🙂

@jaguar: Aha, that does make sense. I was thinking, geez, I know most of my personal blog readers IRL and I write very differently for them than I would write for a large audience of strangers…how is that ever going to work?? But I think I’m going to do the two-blog thing and see what happens. Thanks for the input!

@Kant: Haha, I know. The posts I loved and wanted to share with my usual blog regulars, I would still post on BOTH blogs. (The dress, and all that!) But it definitely made more sense to me to keep the rest of the WB specifc stuff separate.
Good luck!!! 🙂
