I have less than 100 days to my wedding, and a good way to go as far as weight loss & fitness; so, in addition to going to the gym/a trainer and doing Weight Watchers online, I have decided to write a blog about all of my efforts – perhaps it will give some helpful tips to other people; and I think it is a great way of staying accountable. I’d love any input anyone has on workout/diet tips 🙂 Here’s the blog:
Oh, and I have heard so much about Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred that that is definitely the next thing on my to-buy list!

Have you thought about getting a pedometer? My parents wear them to try in get in the 10,000 steps a day – if they exercise hard that day, they are ok not getting them. but they both say it is great behavior modification – makes them take stairs instead of the elevator, walk down the hall instead of calling, etc…..
I am personally a huge fan of weights – heavy weights not girly weights. That is what I did to get ready for my wedding – once I got over the fear of getting bulky, it was awesome! (I lifed for five months, as much as I could, and I was not bulky at All!) and eating every few hours to maintain blood sugar and keep the metabolism going is also good!

Great blog…and sounds like a great way to stay motivated. One way to get the most out of your cardio (especially on a machine) is to train intervals. Most machines have a setting which increases resistance or incline for about a minute, then reduces for 30s-1min, then increases again. You can also do this yourself. After about 10 minutes of working up a sweat, I’ll set myself challenges. For example, I’ll push myself to keep the rpm’s above a set level for 1 minute, then rest 30 secs. You’d be surprised at how many more calories you burn in the same amount of time if you do this. Also, it keeps you engaged and makes the workout less boring.

I think blogging to lose weight is a great idea!
I’m a total fan of Roni, she’s fabulous! I never really had any luck dieting until I stumbled across her. You should check her out. She has a regular personal blog called Roni’s Weigh, she maintains a blogging community called Blog to Lose, and she also has a food blog where she makes up healthy recipes and then shares them. It’s called GreenLiteBites. She’s an amazing source of inspiration to me. And while I may sound like it, I’m not affiliated in any way with her.
Good luck to you! Lemme know what you think if you decide to check her out. 🙂
