I understand the skin tone thing…although I have no idea what tone I am! I guess I am trying to decide between buying the light gold, which i tried on and loved, or buying the ivory which i can get about $450 cheaper.
here is me in the light gold:
My store did not have an ivory sample so here is a picture I found of someone with similar skin tone in the ivory dress:

Cummins59 : I really like your makeup! Your pictures are gorgeous and the ivory looks stunning on you!
SunflowerGarden : I get what you are saying… I want people to by blinded by beauty and not by my pale skin and hair!
eocenia : I agree about applying more makeup. Look like you were able to find a good balance between natural and made up!
clairebbbear : The blue looks great on you!
christoffels & Glasgowbound: Thanks for sharing the light gold!
Krispi: I agree about your thoughts on the second wedding. it’s my second too and honestly, i even went with ivory for the first!

I went with taupe (darker than ivory) and a bunch of other colors, but I’m naturally not very fair and have more gold undertones than pink. I think white looks great on most blondes unless you are veryyyyy pinkish (or have lots of freckles.) My cape, which I wore most of the day, was a lighter ivory/offwhite/natural white color

You don’t look super blonde to me. I think you’d be fine in any color you choose… whether its the whitest white or the brightest gold.

in the photo you posted of yourself in the light gold dress, your hair looks almost strawberry blonde, and had warm tones to it. I can’t be sure – especially as store lighting looks yellow – but I’d say you have warm skin tones.
I’d even hazard a guess and say you’re a “spring”, which means you suit colours like peach, blush, lavender, dusky pastels and leaf/apple greens. When you wear darker colours you prefer colours like burgundy, plum, teal, peacock blue and rich navy.
if you had cool skin tones you’d feel your best in clear colours like ice and hot pinks, electric blue, Kelly green, sapphire, ice blue, lilac, grey-ish blues etc.
if that’s the case, both ivory and light gold woilf be good choices. I personally prefer you in the light gold and don’t think you look washed out at all.

I am blonde but tan well. My wedding will be at the end of summer so I am banking on a bit of a tan but I went with Ivory 🙂 Otherwise I am ghost white during the other 6 months of the year
