I definitely had my share of bloody noses, more so in the 1st and second trimester. Mine wasn’t just a standard bloody nose, it was just free flowing. So strange, but was told it was normal. It went away towards the end of the 2nd trimester. I seem to only get it randomly now.

Normal. I had it, too, mostly during the 1st trimester.  I took sudafed (not PE; it’s the kind you have to get from the pharmacy counter) to help with the constant runny nose, but it didn’t really help the bloody noses.  I just made sure I always had tissues with me, just in case.

Yup! I get bloody noses on occassion and almost always have a bit of blood in the tissue.

It’s really annoying. But from everything I’ve read it’s totally normal.

I have blood every morning when I blow my nose.  And when I brush my teeth and floss. Totally normal.

Yep, same thing happens to me. I have been prone to them so I wouldn’t be surprised if I get a lot more of them.

@nicannette:  Yes totally normal. There is so much extra blood I feel like its coming out of all my orifaces. Too Much Information I know.

i recommend saline gel (my favorite, OceanGel Saline Gel – you have to find it online), to help lubricate your nose and keep the nosebleeds somewhat at bay. I’m addicted to this stuff.  I’m constantly shoving the gel in my nose – i don’t care how ridiculous it look s- it makes me feel better 🙂

Yes, the bloody noses and bloody gums when brushing your teeth-normal but annoying! One day I walked into the bank and started filling out the deposit form and about 2 lines in I felt the blood coming and quick went up to the counter to ask for a tissue and the tellers got very nervous and asked if I needed them to take me to the employee bathroom and I laughed and said, “Nope, totally normal now that I’m pregnant! I’ll be good in a minute, but I probably won’t fill out this form if that’s ok.” Definitely freaked them out. It is true though I haven’t had like a flowing bloody nose in my 3rd trimester now that I think about it…still blood when I blow my nose though.

This is fairly common in sinus infections, pregnant or not. I’ve been having the same issue for 2 weeks now. D: No need to worry about the blood unless you get an active nosebleed that won’t stop bleeding. Saline gel and sleeping with a humidifier in your room should help!

Yes fairly common, but make note if it happens spontaneously, like when you don’t blow your nose, as that can be a sign of gestational hypertension (high blood pressure brought on by pregnancy) that can potentially by very dangerous.
