@paulajmc4: I’m just starting a pair of crystal shoes after lots of research!  Let me know if I can answer any questions 🙂

TealB or anyone else who might know.. I have a question about strassing shoes. Is is better to get the shoe color the same as the crystals? I guess what I mean is I wanted to do a bright blue color but I’m having trouble finding cheap bright blue peep toed pumps (under $45). I want to make blue crystalized strassed shoes.. would it work if I just bought a white pump? Or would it not have the same effect? Any ideas… let me know! 🙂

@AmeliaMar6: No, the shoe doesn’t have to be the same color as the crystals. I did this to my shoes and my shoes are purple, but the crystal is a different color depending on the light. The crystals turn anywhere from yellow to burgundy to purple depending on how the light hits it.

However, you can still tell it is a purple shoe. Here is a pic. *Sorry for the crappy pic*

If you want it to look like a baby blue color, I would suggest trying to find a baby blue shoe because no matter how close the crystals are on the shoe, you will still be able to see the background color of the shoe.

@YSQueen: Thanks so much for your response! I really appreciate it. I found THE SHOES that I want to strass.. SO BAD! Unfortunately, I have spent days and hours trying to find these shoes and cannot find them in my size anywhere.. (size 8 or 8.5). So frustrating!
