Here is how my blue orchids turned out.
I mainly only had blue orchids in my bouquet with white lilies and white lisianthus. The aqua in the flower matched the girls dresses. There were a few scattered at the reception and two beautiful arrangements on the bamboo arbor.

Was that a real orchid in your hair? How did you get it to stay?

Yes it was. My hair dresser just bobby pinned it in place.

Does anyone know where you can buy silk blue dendrobium? Must ship to Canada.

Your arrangements and centerpieces are beautiful! May I ask if you used real or fake flowers for the centerpieces? I am in LOVE with submerged blue orchid centerpieces, but my florist says they don’t submerge well because either will bleed blue into the water… so she recommended doing half centerpieces with submerged WHITE orchids, and half with floating real blue dendros in a bowl…. :/
How did yours work out? Real or fake? Did the water turn blue by the end of the night?
Sorry for so many questions! 🙂

I am using the blue and purple dendrobium’s for my wedding, and my bridesmaids will be in charcoal dresses with turquoise as their accent color.
Here are some pictures of the look I am going for 🙂 If you need any more pictures of ideas let me know! Hope it helps!

No problem at all 🙂 Our flowers were real. The photo posted was one that our photographer took during cocktail hour, so presumably the centerpieces were still pretty fresh. Family and friends took photos later during the reception and the water still looked clear. I don’t think we had any issues with the water turning blue. Maybe you could do a trial run just to see but I don’t think it would be a problem!!
We had white orchids with blue lights at our head table with blue lights – but I don’t think they looked as nice as the blue orchids did. About half of the tables had white orchids with white lights (they were supposed to be blue, but they look white in all the pics, ah well LOL) and again it was nice to have the blue at some tables/white at others but I liked how the blue orchids looked best. Some photos below just so you can compare. Hope that helps 🙂

Love your colors : ) My bridesmaids work black and the black orchid bouquets really popped against the dresses. Good luck!!

Oh they’re beautiful! But I agree, I like the blue dendros so much more. 🙂
I hope I can talk to my florist again and convince her….. Otherwise I may have to figure out a way to order blue dendros myseld and make them beforehand…

Not to threadjack, but who makes your bridesmaids dresses? They’re pretty great!

where did you find your bridesmaid dresses? They are beautiful!

Thank you!! They are by Sophia Tolli, design number “BY11214T” in color “peacock blue.”
They were soo well made, sturdy boning in the bodice and a beautiful corset back. Best of all, they flattered all my girls (from one who is 5′ tall size 00 to another who is 5’9″ and size 12). They were beautiful!! I posted some pics of our wedding day on here but I am currently on my phone so I can’t repost the pics.

Hi brides! I need some advice! I want the blue orchid mixed with white calla lilies for my bridal bouquet, however every florist I talk to tells me the color will rub off onto my dress especially if it’s damp or they get a little damaged. Can you let me know if that happened for any of you blue orchid bouquet experts? Thanks ladies!
