My partner and I decided that we are going to be doing a ceremony at sea. So, it made perfect sense to have a blue diamond in the rings. We were out shopping a few weeks back, and found the PERFECT rings for the event. The ring itself has a wave-type of pattern encasing the diamonds (which are small, but still awesome). The at-store version of the ring had three diamonds, colored I. We had custom work done to the rings, putting enhanced blue diamonds in the center of the two white. Having an enhanced diamond was not really a big deal for either of us, as it is a symbol of love. And, we love the idea that our rings were made personal, rather than being just something we purchased up front at a store.
We are going in this Friday to get the rings, and I cannot WAIT to see what they look like. I am practically giddy. I plan to post pictures once we have the rings.

That is truly beautiful. The diamonds in our rings are very small. All three come to a total cw of 1/20. Not too big, but they are noticeable. Also, we didn’t want to spend too much on the rings for two reasons. One, I am graduating this fall, and the trip to the school will be outrageous. Then there is the actual wedding. Money was a big concern. But also, we are ok with just simple.
The ring itself is P4. It is a blend of silver, gold, palladium and platinum. The reason we chose this is that it is supposed to be harder metal, as it is a combination. And, I use a walker to help me get around (just had surgery to let me walk three years ago). So we needed something sturdy.
Anyway, here is the ring, before the blue diamond was added. As you can see, the diamonds are small, but still noticeable, and rather attractive. The blue diamond was put in the middle. We got matching bands. I will post the actual ring when I get a chance.

It is Monday, April 1, 2013. Yesterday was Easter. And, after spending a truly wonderful weekend with my guy, I ended Easter day with a great memory.
Even though the original plan was that he would propose to me, I jumped the gun. I knew I wanted to spend my life with him. I knew I wanted to give him the ring. So, I proposed. I put the ring on his finger, and asked him to be mine. He cried, of course. Then, after catching his breath, and giving the shock time to wear off, he went to his travel bag, and pulled out my ring (which is an exact match of his).
As a gay couple, we decided we wanted both: an engagement ring, and a wedding band.
Ayway, here is a pic of the engagement band he gave me last night.
It is a P4 ring (Platina 4: a blend of silver, gold, palladium, and platinum). There are two small white diamonds, color I, flanking the blue diamond in the center. I wish I could say this picture does the ring justice, but it doesn’t. The rings we gave to one another are absolutely perfect.
The ceremony will be early next year. We are planning a cruise ceremony, and the blue diamond is a representation of the ocean, on which we will have the ceremony.
