I was really hoping to have my bridesmaids wear short dark blue dresses for my wedding. I want them to be rich in color but not really bright like royal blue and I want them to be dark, but no so dark that they look black in pictures.
I also really love the idea of mismatched dresses because the girls are really varied in terms of size and shape, but I’m afraid that the blues will clash if I just let them pick dresses from any store.
I had high hopes for David’s Bridal marine after seeing Mrs. Apple Cider’s dresses, but nothing at the store really thrilled me.
Does anyone have any suggestions/pictures of dresses they’ve seen or used?

That J Crew is a really pretty color! My girls looooove blue, but I never really considered it. I saw a palette last night of darker blue like that, blush pink and grey accents that has me reconsidering, though! What color tuxes/suits/attire would your menfolk wear?

have you checked jcrew? they have tons of different navy dresses and all in different fabrics & sizes for you can do the mismatched dresses if you want… and they always have sales… & dont’ forget the teacher & student discounts if you or any of your bridesmaids fall into that category!

Hello Little Lulu,
My BM’s are using DB’s style 8355 in Cornflower, wich may be too light for your taste. However, in Marine is make look great. I love the Marine color and wish I would’ve chosen that color instead. Here is a picture of my dresses. The color does not look well in not does it do the style justice in this picture. Have your BM’s try some on and see if you like. You may also try Dessy.com ( I attached the link) they have a lot of nice blues but to keep costs down I chose DB for my girls.

@AzinAugust – I originally really loved vintage blue, but then saw pictures of it in real life and it looks lighter and brighter.
Has anyone had any experience with caspian blue from jcrew?
@Amaryllis – I think they guys will be wearing dark grey suits. My fiance would actually prefer not to wear black, so I think that will work out.
@MexicanMami – my sister was actually interested in that dress, but for some reason they didn’t have it in my david’s bridal

Did you have your heart set on a particular kind of fabric? This is a link to twobirds; they do jersey bridesmaid dresses which your BMs could wear in different ways (http://www.twobirdsbridesmaid.com/main.html). Their windsor navy seems to be close to what you were talking about.
oooh, and just for eye candy – Trina Turk at Nordstroms
And (i love the bow on this one!)
Hope this helps a little! I had such a time finding the dresses for my BMs!
