I get your predicament.  I’m also going for a muted, kind of slate blue for my bridesmaid dresses.  Have you looked at ModCloth.com?  They have a lot of vintage-looking dresses, most of which are under the $200 point.  Here are some you might like, though they might also be too casual, depending on your wedding:

now if you ever decide to change from blue to purple… this one is perfect (and it’s mine!). it is definitely purple/grey… looks more purple in the picture than it really is

You may want to take a look at Bill Levkoff’s indigo color.  It was too blue for my gray bridesmaids dresses.

@nkatsa:  were you able to find a dress in this color under 200$ I am on the same hunt and have found a few dresses in the color (if by the small chance you still need dresses I would be happy to let you iknow the designs and colors)… however, nothing I find is under 200 and I feel bad making my girls spend a lot also πŸ™‚

I’ve also been looking for a similar colour and having a very difficult time finding the right one!

I also really liked Jenny Yoo’s turkish blue! (Though just a warning to other brides, it looks very different in person than what they show on the website!)

Here’s a photo of the swatch (which is still off because it’s a photo – but much more accurate than the website!)

I also came across this blog entry that showcases some beautiful blue dresses:

I checked out the J Crew website and the caspian blue doesn’t look quite as nice on the site (it looks a lot darker). And it’s no cheaper than Jenny Yoo!

@MarieeToBee What colours/designs have you found?

@beb108:  The one thing I can say to help is that those look like they are made of a tafetta fabric.  It usually has a nice shape and shimmer/glow about it.  I know Bari Jay makes really nice tafetta dresses.  They also have a irridescent chiffon that is really pretty.

@beb108:  If you are still looking for the dress pictured the top one is alfred sung in duponi color quarry – that picture is my inspiration for my wedding colors also and searched till I figured it out πŸ™‚
