There is a groupon going on for the next 7 hours that is 100$ for 200$ worth of Blue Nile wedding jewelry. I was wondering if anyone has purchased jewelry from Blue Nile and how their experience was with them? What are their rules with cleaning and inspection? How do their prices compare to other jewelers? We got my engagement ring at Shane Co, but I was considering getting his wedding band from Zales/Kay to save money. If I got the groupon I would be using it buy my Fiance wedding band. Do you think this is a good deal?

@christmasbride13: I ordered from Blue Nile and they are great. They have excellent service and nice product. I believe within the first year they will re-size your ring for free as long as you pay the return shipping. They have a diamond upgrade program as long as the new diamond is double the value of the original diamond purchase. I believe for settings if you want to trade it in along the line they will give you a percentage towards the setting so you can put towards a different one.
What band are you looking at? There is no link and I’m not sure if you were trying to post one.

@christmasbride13: I don’t have bridal jewelry from there but I do have a pearl ring. Customer service and their return policy is excellent. I bothered them with tons of diamond related questions lol.
I don’t think you can go wrong with them.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything negative about blue nile besides the fact that they don’t offer images of their diamonds and ASET or ideal scope but none of that has anything to do with a band. I would go for it! I think you will get better quality from them than zales. But there’s no warranty/lifetime service like B&M stores offer. If you’re getting a plain band that shouldn’t be a big deal.

I love Blue Nile! My engagement ring is from there, FI’s wedding band is too. My band will most likely be from there as well.

My fiancee and his sister’s fiancee both ordered the rings for us from there. I had been looking just for fun, and my Fiance snuck onto my computer with my MOH’s help to look at my history and looked at my “favourite rings” on my wish list. He ended up picking something different but it is stunning. My FSIL’s is amazing too! Everyone comments on how beautiful my ring is, I always say it’s full of fire and rainbows!!! The prices are great and I love their build-your-own-ring process and explanation/education on diamonds. We’re both getting our bands from there too!!! Highly recommend!
Also where is this groupon I want one!!!

@christmasbride13: I have only heard great things about Blue Nile. I know couples who have made engagement ring purchases from Blue Nile ranging from $3,000 all the way up to $50,000… and everyone raved about their experience. The only note is that these friends all purchased round brilliants, which are much easier to buy online. If you are looking for a cushion cut, there are so many off-paper variables that affect appearance that it might be better to go to a physical store to look at cushions. However, if you’re asking about value for money and customer service, I have been told that it is a top-notch retailer to deal with.
