Mine is a classic cathedral setting from Blue Nile. When I ordered it, it was only offered in white metals, so I had to special order it in 18K gold. It has a four prong platinum head. The stone is bigger than what you were asking for, but the setting is close:

Hi! I had that setting once upon a time but I returned and purchased the low dome version..only because I had a 2.5 carat princess cut diamond.. I don’t think you would have any issues with the setting under a carat. What are you trying to avoid? Hitting it or not being able to put your hand in your pocket?

I had that ring set with a .25 diamond! I lost it so unfortunately don’t have a picture of it but I liked it. The diamond set nice and low. The only thing I wish was different was the band looked a little thick for my preference with a small diamond.

I have a 0.5 ct solitaire with 4 prongs- I recently got it reset into a new setting with some side stones, but when it was a solitaire it was a higher setting and I definitely didn’t feel like it got caught on things or anything 🙂

Actually I find that stones around my size look a bit nicer in a higher setting, as I think it gives a bit of an illusion of looking bigger, but obviously that’s just personal preference!

@izzygrace97:  hi! I realize I’m a little late to the party, but I’ve got a low dome comfort fit solitaire from blue Nile and I LOVE it. It doesn’t sit too high and it fits so comfortably.
