It is true as another Bee stated…  Everyone always has an opinion.

On one board their was all this discussion about stones being ‘to large.’  I was shocked!  I didn’t think there was any such thing as a stone that was to big.  But, more than 85% of women voted they felt this Bees stone was in fact ‘to big’ and even ‘tacky.’

Bottom line…  Get what you want.  No one else has to wear the ring but you.

Royalty wear sapphires. BAM. Get what you like, sapphires aren’t going out of style… probably ever.

I have a black diamond and I couldn’t be happier. Get what YOU want. it’s not about “what’s in or out” of style. poo poo on your sister.

get what you want.

Go with whatever ring and stone you love, because ultimately you will be the one wearing it. If you “settle” for a diamond when you want a sapphire, I think you will end up wishing you had ignored your sister’s opinion and gotten the stone you wanted. Here is my sapphire ring. I am kinda obsessed with and am so happy that I got a sapphire center stone.

If your heart wants a blue sapphire, get a blue sapphire! They’re completely classic, in my opinion… and even if they weren’t, who cares? Your engagement ring is a symbol of your relationship and should be something that makes your heart sing – just like your partner does πŸ™‚ I’m 100% in love with my sapphire and wouldn’t change it for any diamond. Trust your gut!

She needs to get over herself. It’s your ring get the Sapphire!! You love it so who cares? She sounds very immature In My Humble Opinion. Gemstones are traditional. They have been used for CENTURIES!! Diamonds are a concept brought up like 60yrs ago or something by Da Beers. A Sapphire is a classic, not a fad. Goodluck in your ring search πŸ™‚

If you and your fi love it as an engagement ring, then it’s an engagement ring! Simple as that. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

I looove sapphires but knew I wanted a diamond, so I did both!

I have a diamond with a sapphire halo. I love it! You are the only one that knows your style, so do you!

Honestly who is she to tell YOU what to choosr for YOUR ring! Politely tell her thanks for the concern but this is YOUR engagement not hers. That is borderline control freakish and imo quite rude. Do you tell her how to dress or style her hair lol! Sapphires r gorgeous and hey- if it is good enough for Princess Diana! Seriously  do not let anyone pressure you into something you don’t really want. She can get a diamond for HER engagement ring. Follow your heart πŸ™‚ And plz do share pics along the way!

I would not be bringing Future Sister-In-Law with me to look at rings if I were you. It sounds like she’ll just rain on your parade, anyway, when you don’t try on/get what “she” thinks would be the right ring.

ellelw:  Make an appointment at that Natural Sapphire Company.  That’s what I was going to do, but my fiancee surprised me by having my (absolutely perfect) ring designed and made by a professional jewler friend of his.  Here’s mine, btw:

Though it does have 38 diamonds, so maybe that would be enough to appease the Sister in Law from Hell! πŸ˜›
