My future grandmother in law has offered to loan me her family veil (that her mother bought in Europe many moons ago – beautiful antique lace veil). I love the veil and it goes with my dress, however, it does not have a blusher. After trying on dresses, I am really set on a blusher. My question is – is there a way to simply drape the veil over my face (like a blusher) – it a very long cathedral length veil. I was thinking and hoping this may be possible a la Kate Middleton (though her veil is not as long).
How would I attach the veil? Would I have to add a comb? Since the veil isn’t mine and antique, I need to preserve it for future use. Thanks for all your help!

I wore a drop veil, which is what you are describing. I attached mine with beautiful hair pins, but you can also use normal (drug store style) ones that match your hair color.
Or you can go simple

You might talk to your alterations person about this. Mine was able to make me a blusher that would attach to and go with my existing veil.

I too am wearing a drop veil, which means you just take the veil and drape it over your head, make the front come down however long in the front you want, and use a hat pin.
