hi all. Hoping someone with my situation can advise me. Wanting a charcoal grey color bridesmaid dress for my beautiful girls. For some reason only place I can find it at davidsbridal (um yuck!) but they are way overpriced of course. Any other suggestion on places to look that might offer a variety of color pallete’s like DB?

What price range are you trying to stay within and is it the Pewter color at Davids that you are looking at or a different one? That way we can give you some better ideas hopefully.

Alfred Angelo does some great Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in different colors. I am not sure what your price range is though.
See http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/DisplayCollection.aspx?CategoryId=772F03C9-DE43-4942-BFA0-DA77E21EBD65
For ideas.
Hope that helps!

I got my bridesmaid dresses at Target, actually! 40 bucks each! Here’s what I ordered: http://www.target.com/MossB-Strapless-Bubble-Drs-Slvr-Brch/dp/B001DYPB2O/qid=1225322603/ref=br_1_15/182-7652210-5219456?ie=UTF8&node=1104830&frombrowse=1&rh=tgt%5F2%3Agray&page=1
I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for, and it’s lighter than pewter…but…a place to start.
Try looking at non-bridal stores and lines. There are some amazing, affordable options out there. Most big stores allow you to sort by color, too. Other places that I looked included Macy’s, Nordstrom, JC Penny, Bluefly.com, BCBG….
Good luck! Out of curiosity, what are your colors? Mine are silver with punches of lemon yellow for our wedding next July.

our colors are charcoal, pewter (for the guys) and a blue/grey teal color. Using the teal as a punch for the reception. Found these amazing mosaic mirrored vases in all shapes in sizes that kinda became an ispiration and the teal was one of the original ideas I wanted. But trying to find grey Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses has seriously been a nightmare. Not wanting a silver but more of a soft grey or pewter color. Trying to keep them reasonable no more than 200 hopefully. Thanks for the tips

I second SpaceC06’s suggestion of Alfred Angelo–they’ve got what looks like a pretty pewter/charcoal color (at least it looks pretty online!). I looked at a few of their dresses a few weeks back and I don’t think any of them were over $200. Bill Levkoff also does a gray satin that I think is more of a medium gray color (and I liked the feel of the Levkoff dresses over the Angelo ones). Some of the dresses are over $200, but I remember seeing several that were in the $150 to $200 range, especially from the Classics collection. Good luck!

You can check out nordstrom where you can sort the dresses by color. This dress is really pretty: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2962717/0~2376776~2374327~2374331~6014133?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6014133&P=1 plus it looks like it would flatter many body types and you can wear an actual bra with it (probably racerback). It’s within your budget and for sure re-wearable.
You can also look here where you can sort dresses by color from many online stores: http://www.like.com/womensdresses-search–gray_dresses–color-steel%20grey
A little over your price range, but also very pretty and re-wearable: http://www.bluefly.com/Vera-Wang-steel-pleated-hammered-satin-dress/cat60019/300811901/detail.fly

We had pewter grey dresses from Bill Levkoff (style #455) here they are in action:

They were super cute and very high quality, and cost $135 (with free shipping)! I got them here:
