I’m the summer i’m having a outdoor wedding. My dress is satin, corseted, princessy and quite structured.
I figure i should have my my Bridesmaid or Best Man in a satin dress as well so we kind of both look the part together.
i’d love to hear what any of you bees are doing, and if your choice of Bridesmaid or Best Man dress has anything to do with your dress.
I’m considering ordering the dress below in a light pink for my bm.
Thoughts?

My gals and I had nothing similar at all. I think they still looked beautiful. There’s no mistaking who the bride is and who the BMs are. No worries. I would focus more on the general feel of the wedding that you want. With my 8 ladies, they really set the stage w/ the color of their dress and the mood I was trying to go for.

My dress is very soft and flowy with a sexy dropped waist. I wanted the bridemaids in dresses that had a similar soft, elegant feel. Nothing structured. They are wearing flowy chiffon dresses, also with a dropped waist, (but otherwise different silhouette from my dress)

I was just at a bridal salon today and saw Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses which has the same sort of bust area as my dress and thought to myself it would have been nice to match. But it isn’t at all a requirement, and in the end, both my dress and the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are satin and strapless. That’s about all they have in common.
I do like the dress above. It would flatter almost any figure. Light pink would look great.

My bridesmaids match my dress but that was completely coincidental, it was the dress they picked out. We have the same neckline and similar detailing up top. I love the dress that you have pictured and think it would be very flattering.

When my bridesmaids were shopping, I was going to be getting a satin wedding dress. They all leaned towards a certain full length gown and the consultant said it was great since it’s satin and my gown would be too. Weeks later I ended up changing my mind on my dress and I went with Taffeta. I freaked when I realized that now my bm dresses weren’t going to match. THEN I realized it really didn’t matter 🙂

Before I got my dress, I planned on having my Bridesmaid or Best Man wear short chiffon dresses that we cute and summery. But after I bought a more formal and pretty structured dress, I decided that their dress needed to be a bit more structured too. My dress has a sweetheart neckline, and so does theirs, and they look like they “fit in” together. Though the material is not the same, theirs is a satin while mine is taffeta, but it definitely pushed me to pick a more structured material.

I dont think the dresses have to match, the only thing I dont like seeing is abride in a matte fabric like chiffon or tulle having her BMs wear a glossy fabric like satin. My bridesmaids are wearing knee length taffeta dresses with bubble skirt, and my dress is a more luxe softer taffeta and organza mermaid dress.. they dont look anything a like
