We picked our Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and colors yesterday. Yay! They look nice together IRL. I am going for the mutlicoloed Bridesmaid or Best Man dress look and need help pulling it off without it looking like a mess.
Here’s pic of the colors in the store with and without a flash…
Victorian Lilac (our main wedding color)
Loves 1st Blush
Wedding colors are “Victorian Lilac and copper”
We are getting married outside in the woods. My dress is Maggie Sotterto Kamiya in Champagne.
More info that you need probably, but I’m hoping having it all in one post will help me too 🙂
So…. What order do you like best for the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. It’s hurting my head. The dresses and color are non negotable lol. It took us hours and days to land on them.
They are in the order they will be in at the alter and I will be on the far right in my chamgane dress. The darker purple (victorian lilac) is our “main” wedding color.
Also would you have the Groomsmen ties match the Bridesmaid or Best Man they walk with or do them all victorian lilac?
(Names came from what color Bridesmaid or Best Man dress is next to the bride lol. I didn’t know how else to name them)
Does your head hurt yet? They are all starting to look the same to me.

Love the colors you settled on! I think the mixed blush combo looks best from a purely aesthetic standpoint. What color flowers are they holding?
I would stick with victorian lilac for all the groomsmen – it might end up looking too much like Easter if they match with the BMs.

I have no comments on which one to pick because they all look so similar to me…but I wanted to say this is probably the first time I’ve seen a post of ombre/multicolored Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses on here that I actually think looks good, so bravo on your selections.

What color is the Maid/Matron of Honor wearing?

JiminyCricket: Thank you!! I love the look but sometimes they are a a bit of a mess. Finding a good combo was hard. We ended up really limited to the only designer that has a good liliac selection.
desss: I guess I’m not having a Maid/Matron of Honor. Fiance says he doesn’t want a best man. He doesn’t want to pick. I tried to tell him people will assume whom ever is standing next to us are the Maid/Matron of Honor and best man anyway. He’s having a hard time deciding who he even wants to stand next to him out of his 6.
I have an idea of who we want paired so it will just go off who he decides he want next to him He’s making it a little difficult. Any of my BM’s would make a great Maid/Matron of Honor. I may just appoint one anyway but her dress won’t be any different.
sewingbee: Good point. I’m going for romantic not easter lol. I think you are right. It’s also best to keep it easy for the boys. I want it to be obvious victorian liliac and copper are our colors. I’m still working with the florist on flowers. She’s still drawing up her proposal for us. I love peonies and like succulents but I’m not sure if succulents are right for me. I’m excited to see what she comes up with. She’s asked for lots of pics so I sent her these too when we picked the dresses.

They all look the same lol don’t stress over it. I did the same thing wasted so much time planning my girls shades of dresses and where they were standing and it was only for 20 mins tops and not that many pics so it was just a waste of time in the end. No one is going to notice or care when all is said and done, not even yourself!! I thought I would care too and now I’m like why did I think that was important?? Lol if you must know I say mix up the girls as much as possible and not in a pattern. The guys all in one color for sure for the same reason don’t want everything to be mathcy match with the ladies when your going for a mixed look. Also it makes it easier for them to not have to fine all the different shades for ties too now. I would even just put the guys in a gray or black tie – but I don’t like making men wear girly colored ties to match the ladies that’s just me lol lots of people do it obviously

Your colors are so beautiful! At first I honestly thought I wouldn’t like them, but as I scrolled down and saw all of your pics, I think it’s going to come together so beautifully!!
For the order, I like the very first one (Victorian Lilac Patterned 1). I like that it puts your main color right next to you (assuming that you are standing to the right of all of this). Having the darker purple next to your would also provide more of a contrast with your white dress, and make you stand out more. I also like the look of the blush in between the other two purples. It all integrates very well this way, and prevents it from looking too 1,2,3,1,2,3 orderly.
I think I would do all of the groom’s ties in the victorian lilac.

Star116062: I’m only really worrying because it determines the order my bridesmaids (and groomsmen) will go. Something they are all very curious and asking about. Several BM’s have already have expressed wanting to wear certain colors from the lot. I’d like to try to accomodate that if possible. Fiance is insisting that his sister walk with her husband who he wants to be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd next to him. Another girl wants lilcac , while another wants the victorian lilac. My Jr. Bridemaid will be “last in line” and I know who I want next to her. Besides that I have no idea what order they are going in. He’s not doin a best man so I don’t have a Maid/Matron of Honor. It’s hard to decide who I want by me too. Of course I want it to look good in pics, but the real problem is the processional/recessioinal order with the wedding party.
