    Winter screams long dress IMO.

If you’re having a formal wedding, then long is the way to go.  But you can do whatever you want.  There’re no rules.

What are you looking at that you can’t find anything you like? There’s millions of dresses out there at all price points. Have your BM’s offered any suggestions?

Pretty dress, but it appears to be very body specific. Are all the girls built like models?!

I guess it depends on what you’re going for. I love short dresses with tights and a cardigan of faux fur wrap, but if that’s not your style en long might be best.

@mrsztobee:  Keep looking, I know I’ve seen some inexpensive long dresses here on the boards. They’re definitely out there. And talk to your BMs – if they are on a very tight budget, maybe they’d prefer to wear short dresses with tights and some kind of warm cover-up on their way to and from the venue. It’s about to be prom season – you should check department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom for floor-length gowns, I’m sure you can find some with some sparkle, and prom dresses seem to be lower priced than formal eveningwear that you find during the rest of the year.

@Mrs. Wallaby:  prom dresses are a good idea! Maybe even just after prom season where they’ll likely be on sale or clearance!

@mrsztobee: Ok so I found these 2 examples of fur wraps I personally like. I think they have to be done right or they will look cheesy.

(this one was vintage and is sold but you maybe could find something similar or have it made if you like the style–I think it’s a really cute style)

what are your colors? I would maybe do the wrap and tights in black and then a short dress in a color that goes with your colors/theme. It might be easier to find long dresses but I don’t like long dresses near as much and I am a huge fan of the faux wrap with tights look!
