Can they be in the same color family? My main color is purple and I am wanting to put my BM’s in plum. Can I also use dark purple table linens? One of my BM’s mentioned clashing with the tables. I never thought of this. I never really thought this was an issue. Is it really?

I don’t see why that would be an issue. In fact, it seems logical. It’s likely that the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress color is a wedding color, and one would expect to see it throughout the wedding. Plus, those are both nice shades of purple. I think it’ll be lovely 🙂
And is that the dress the bridal party is wearing? Because that’s a beautiful dress.

My friend had a purple and ivory color scheme. Her bridesmaids wore purple. The tables had purple linens and purple centerpieces. The centerpieces were tall, so the purple flowers were high enough to not clash with the linens. I thought it looked beautiful.

@judithsr: It made sense to me as well until someone brought up the whole clashing thing. So, I have been sitting here trying to figure out how you incorporate your wedding colors if you do not use them throughout the wedding LOL. And yes, that is the dress for the bridal party. It is a Bill Levkoff.

I’ve been wondering the same thing because my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are yellow and I want yellow tablecloths. I really don’t think it will clash though. It makes sense to use your “wedding” colours for both. I say go for it.
