Poll time! I am in a bit of a pinch as I stupidly left ordering flowers for my wedding until the last minute and am now having a hard time finding a florist in my (small) floral budget.
My options are pretty much to go with a cheaper (but I think still nice) flower for the BMs, or to go with my original idea of having feather bouquets for them, which are cheaper than flowers. My wedding has feather centrepieces and I am wearing a feather fasincator in my hair and the wedding theme is vintage Hollywood.
I guess I just need an opinion on what to do for the girls? Which flower do you like better? Or are the feathers cooler?
This (or something similar) will be my bouquet no matter what:
What should I do for the bridesmaids?
Option #1: White carnations
Option #2: White spider mums
Option #3: Fluffy white feather bouquet with pearl accents
Option #4: Feathers that look more like flowers (would be white, not ivory, and have pearl centres)

I woud have voted feathers if that’s what your bouquet would be also. Because you’re going with red roses, what about having cream roses for the girls? I just don’t think the carnations, mums, or feathers compliment your bouquet at all.
Can you add other to the poll?

I like the carnations best but I don’t think you can go wrong either way!

I guess I should also mention that the wedding is in a classy louge turned private event space and the girls are wearing these dresses:

I’d go with the carnations.

Bump – any other opinions?

I’d go with the white carnations.

the carnations compared to the roses just dont seem to go… I would go with a different color rose.

To the people who think the carnations don’t go – I’m not trying to be snarky but just to understand – are the bridesmaids bouquets always supposed to match the flowers in bride’s bouquet?

I wasn’t trying to be rude when I said I didn’t think they flowers went together, it’s just my personal opinion. I think the flowers should compliment each other either by being a similar type or color. I think a much smaller ivory rose bouquet would be a very pretty compliment to your big red rose bridal bouquet.

I really like the texture of #2, actually…

I agree that smaller white rose bouquets would look best, or at least mixed white bouquets with a few white roses interspersed.
Of the options above, I like the carnations best. I don’t like the feather bouquets unless it’s tied together somehow with your bouquet and/or the rest of the wedding.

I don’t necessarily agree about the Bridesmaid or Best Man flowers complimenting the BM’s flowers. I’m carrying hot pink roses and hydrangeas and my Maid/Matron of Honor is carrying orange gerberas. I went with theme and colors (tropical beach theme) versus complimenting our flowers. I also went with cost. I originally wanted my Maid/Matron of Honor to carry pink and orange roses but because it’s only one person, I was going to have a lot of leftover flowers and her bouquet was going to cost almost as much as mine.
Disclaimer: Flowers aren’t a biggie to me so take what I say with a grain of salt. Just my opinion!

I like the carnations the best

I love the feathers, especially the ones that look like flowers! I think they’ll go great with your theme, so I would go with them. If you’re afraid they won’t match, could you add feathers to your bouquet to better mesh the two?
