For a little fun, share some of your favorite board games!
Fiance and I went to lunch with another couple this weekend. We went back to their house afterwards to play a board game. We ended up playing Takenoko which I have never heard of! It was a little bit slow to start as we had to understand the game, but it was a lot of fun! I really liked the game. So it got me to thinking, what other fun games are out there that we should try?

I love Ticket To Ride Europe. That’s my go to game on board game/wine night. Also a huge fan of Pandemic and Smash Up.
If you’re looking for something for a bigger group of people, Coup is fantastic. Not a board game (cards game, rather), but oh man is it intense. And everyone really gets into it!

Ohhhh we love board games. We have 2 sets of friends that are big into gaming, so we get to try new/unique ones all the time. My favorites are Mysterium and Viticulture! We also bought a couple for friends as a birthday gift that were lots of fun to play with – Tokaido and Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill.
Oh, and at last game night we played Camel Up – that was lots of fun. Saboteur is great for a larger group too…though that’s a hybrid card game (where you essentially build a board).

I love Codenames, but it’s best to have at least 6 people although it’s doable with as little as 4 for the regular game. Maybe even 3 with adjusted rules?

AB Bride : Code Names is such a great game! It’s still in regular play in our weekly game night after many many months.
I also love Dominion (+ expansions), Power Grid, Carcassone, Puerto Rico, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and of course Settlers of Catan.

Definitely Betrayal at the House on the Hill. It’s one of my favorites, and always a hit with non board gamers as well (we’re pretty hardcore and play a lot of intense strategy games with dedicated board game groups, but occasionally have to see our non-nerdy board gaming friends… So naturally we bring board games, lol!).
Other possibilities: Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, Tokaido, Dominion. These have also played really well with our non-gamer friends and family. Also, seconding the mentions of Coup and Codenames.
PS, Takenoko has an expansion that adds more pandas. Just thought I’d throw that out there. 😉

Well, I feel dumb, I haven’t heard of any of these games!
Not exactly board games, but we usually like to play Cards Against Humanity (or Apples to Apples for the more PG version, depending on the crowd). We also like “Things” if we have a larger group of people that know each other pretty well (it involves picking out who gave what answer, so it’d be hard with strangers).

Monopoly and Settlers of Catan are big favourites with us. Though my personal favourites are Scrabble or the Discworld Board Game.
I love Dominion, its a really fun game that I was introduced to by some intense board game fans, friends of DH that we meet up with every couple of months.

MrsSapphire : my favorite is Seven Wonders. I also really like Last Will, Ascension, Dominion, Mysterium, Code Names, Splendor, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, this weird wizard card game I can’t remember the name of right now, and Cash n’ Guns.
