A couple years ago my sister and I treated ourselves to mud wraps, and after it was done we were both so exhausted we had to go home and take naps!  It’s a little hard to describe the effect it has on your body, but basically, you’re slathered in a type of clay and then wrapped in a heat-reflecting blanket.  I remember feeling freezing cold and sweating at the same time – it becomes really hard for your body to regulate its temperature!  I think that’s where the slimming effect comes in – it’s all water weight that’s lost.  It’s pretty hard on your body, and I’m trying to imagine how it would fit into any wedding day plans without wiping you out for the rest of the day.  Because the water loss effect is temporary, I also don’t think there’d be much of an impact if you did it the day before.  I think a long workout to sweat things out the morning of would be much invigorating!

Edited to say, I realized that you posted on body wraps and not mud wraps, but I think the general idea is the same?  I’d be curious to hear if anyone has done a body wrap and found it be as draining.

My fiance got me 2 body wraps a few years ago and I loved them!!!  For the first one they measured me (literally all over!) and then wrapped me in ace bandages soaked in minerals from head to toe (ok, maybe not REALLY HEAD to toe but close!) and then put me on an eliptical… off and on the resoaked the bandages with the mineral solution.  After about 45 minutes they unwrapped me and retook the measuements.  The one I went to guaranteed a minimum of 10 inches lost from the different measurement areas.  I lost 26 inches!!! OMG talk about thrilled! lol… anyway, his mom came down about 2 weeks after that and we gave her one for mothers day… she lost 8 inches (yup, received a free wrap bc it wasn’t 10)… I lost an additional 6 inches (they wouldn’t guarantee mine since it was so close).  I LOVED IT!  I obviously didn’t lose any WEIGHT (I’m not big to begin with) but I looked and felt more toned!  They say that as long as you continue your exercise and stay over all healthy, your results should stay… When I went to the first one, I was sooo not feeling good… I really wanted to cancel it until later but I went anyway.  I’m SO glad I did!  After all the minerals are soaked in by your body you feel amazing!

I hadn’t thought about doing it before my wedding but now that you mention it, I probably will!!!

Ooooo wow now i’m convinceD! I thoguht this was all hype but now i totally want one!!!! Maybe I’ll schedule one. Wow, 26 inches I simply cannot believe that!!!!! I bet it helps just flush all the excess water weight you are carrying, too. I tend to retain water excessively. I’m working on limited my salt intake.

How close to the wedding do you advise doing it? Also, how long did the effects last? I’m wondering if Wednesday before a Saturday wedding is good, or if I should consider Thursday….hmmmm

no expert by ANY means… lol… my effects lasted about 2-3 weeks.  And were considered ‘not typical’… Then I got back underway (I’m in the Navy) and all my good eating habits kinda flew out the window… They definitely tell you to try to limit your salt intake (which I am trying SO hard to do now on my own… it’s definitely my vice!) and to drink TONS of water! I’m having a Sunday wedding so… hmmm… maybe I’ll look for an appointment on Thursday-ish… I would also consider trying it out before the actual wedding… just like anything else new I’d HATE to have a side effect!!  GOOD LUCK!

For sure! I’ve already been "trying out" all my beauty treatments this April. I’d be way too scared to try anything braaand new right before the wedding!

Thanks for your service!!!!

I always do a body wrap before something important.

Did one in ATL at a salon before going to Jamaica.

It REALLY does help.  Lost six inches. (all over)
