Is it strange to wear a bolero and veil at the same time – i mean is it too much?
I so want to wear a bolero (have fond one I absolutely love on Etsy) – but I also think that a veil often is what makes the bride well… a bride.
So, what do you think bees?

I had this exact same problem! I’m a massive fan of the bolero and wanted one to go with my dress but I really wanted a veil too! I ended up ditching the bolero idea cos my dress has a bit of a high neckline and I thought it’d be too busy. So I’m sticking with the veil – I know when my bestie got married, once she had the veil on to me it was real and I got all emotional cos she was a bride and it was lovely! LOL. But I was a bit concerned about a veil AND a bolero being a bit too much. It probably depends on the bolero though. If it’s plain and has short sleeves you might be able to get away with it. It’s probably one of those things you have to try on to be able to decide.

wh would that be too much? A bolero is not very different from adress with sleeves. Look back at some wedding photos from the 70s and 80s, sleeves were very popular and so were veils. I don’t htink it will be too much at all and if you like them together then go for it. Alternatively, you could remove the veil after the ceremony.

I’m doing both also. It’s your wedding day, you can be over the top if you want to.

I’m wearing an etsy bolero- if you’re thinking of the same one I got, by Rohm, it’s gorgeous and absolutely worth it, although mine was too big (but I lost weight)
ANYWAY. I am wearing it with my hair up and a birdcage veil!

I’m doing this too. Short-sleeve, satin bolero and mantilla veil. I haven’t tried everything together, but I think it will work and not look too busy.

I was just at a wedding yesterday where the bride wore both a veil and a bolero (because it was 50 degrees and raining outside). It didn’t look too busy at all. The bolero was a very simple style, and the veil was fingertip length and only hung down the back, so they didn’t compete with each other at all.

I wore a lace bolero and a birdcage veil. I skipped the necklace and it worked out well!

A bird cage veil would look great with that bolero. IMO boleros look best when paired with a complimentary veil. A nice flat lace bolero could be paired with the most basic veil, but the more 3D boleros require a veil with more volume, otherwise the veil could look flat.
