This was the one dress I always wanted to try on….it’s stunning.  I had the same problem as the top of my dress was covered in crystals.  In the end I let the veil drape over the tops of my arms (it did this naturally anyway) and it saved me all the bother of finding something to match the dress.  I spoke to a few people about boleros and you know what I was told……”when you see a bride with a bolero (if not a Catholic Church wedding) the first thing you realise is that she hates her arms”  I immediately decided just to let the veil hide the parts I was uncomfortable with lol.  Sorry that wasn’t much help.  You look amazing though!!!

You look stunning in that dress!  Like a joy explosion I love it.  I first envisioned kind a fur bolero, but then I noticed you’re getting married in october (like me!) so maybe chiffon?  I found this http://www.etsy.com/listing/96418514/white-chiffon-bolero-shrug-bridal-jacket?ref=sr_gallery_2&sref=sr_c426b95d28f09c9a431cba217070d8934dfe1be43b53333afff523c2eace232f_1349444109_14095816_bolero&ga_search_query=bridal+bolero&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all

I don’t think it will compete with the beautiful beading .  Since the dresses focus is on the top I’d be hesitant to go with anything too fancy in a bolaro because you don’t want competing elements so close to your beautiful face.  I wouldn’t do lace, but ruffles miiight work?  It’s tough because a lot you’d have to try on and really try to match to your dress, something like this http://www.etsy.com/listing/73394201/special-price-sweet-dream-ivory-dupioni?ref=sr_gallery_34&ga_search_query=bridal+bolero&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all

would be interesting, but I’d have to see the two actually together to be sure they worked…

A delicate French lace bolero would look gorgeous. I’ve seen so many very fit and skinny women wear boleros, I don’t think is says anything about a woman’s comfort with her body, especially if it goes beautifully with the overall look.

@MrsFutureG:  I hate my arms so took the “hates her arms” observations on board….ridiculously.  I also added straps to my dress as I’m quite broad and the straps just helped break up the top half of me.  I completely get where you’re coming from!

Have you thought about trying quite a simple bolero for the top half?  I think due to the lovely crystals on the top you might need to go for something more understated so as not to deflect from the beauty of the dress.

Maybe something like this.

@skyeatnight:  I wore a bolero for my wedding all day and only took it off for dancing. I have no issue with my arms at all, I just liked the look of my dress with sleeves so I would like to think people didn’t comment that I must have hated my arms. I think it just depends really on the look you want to go for on the day.

@minimoo:  Just to clarify, I wasn’t the one that made the comment.  I said that a few people told me this is what they thought when they saw a bride with a bolero on.  I ended up not wearing one due to the fact that I wanted a veil and it would have been too much with both.
