You get what you pay for.  I had the same experience with them and complained and they gave me my money back.

Hm, very weird.  Vistaprint is definitely low quality (duh, i mean look at the price) but I didn’t have any of the issues you did: my proofs looked just like the final product and what I uploaded… I didn’t have any blurriness, even though my STD was very high detail, though I did notice the “dots” due to the low-ish DPI.  (I’ve printed 2 batches of invites, Save-The-Date Cards, wedding program, thank you cards, and a no photography sign, as well as my business cards)

Sorry you had a bad experience, bee.  They’re pretty good about refunding I’ve heard, so if the next batch comes in below standard as well I’d ask for a refund and go with somewhere more expensive.

I agree with other posters – the finished product looks pretty good to me. I also ordered my Save-The-Date Cards from Vista Print because the prices were fantastic. Photos lose a little “something” when they go from the screen to paper, just in general.

EMDEsq:  try a really high quality printing site like MPix.  Professional quality printing can look even better than on screen, but unfortunately its not easy to find places that are so high quality!  There are a few websites that rate printing services, and you’ll find that most of the top notch printing services can only be used by professionals.  MPix and one other that I can’t remember are the only ones open to public… I printed my engagement photos in many sizes including 12 by 18 and the quality is amazing!

Sorry, off topic, it just made me sad to read your comment and know that meant you weren’t absolutely in love with your framed prints.  Framed photos are my favorite thing on my walls–but I tried 5 or 6 different professional printing companies before I found one I was happy with!

Your proofs look really oversaturated – the prints look more like natural colours. I think they look fine, but its hard to tell print quality without seeing them in person (especially since I’m viewing this on my phone.)

I would confirm that the colour mode was CMYK, that the black was done as rich black, and that the resolution was set correctly (300 PPI.) If that doesn’t help then it must just be Vista Prints printers, and I would look at getting them printed at a local print shop so you can make sure you’re happy with the quality.

Hopefully Vista Print has some sort of quality guarantee and will give you your money back if the problem is on their end. Good luck!

Vistaprint is not a very high quality. I used them but did not have high expectation. Any time I’ve had an issue they have been happy to fix it or refund money. Good luck!

EMDEsq:  The “something” they lose is the brightness from the computer screen amping up the colors and contrast.

Try Catprint.com.  They are around the same price wise but great quality.  They also print magnets now.  They have a promocode “weddingcat” for 10% off your first order.

I got my Save-The-Date Cards, invitiations, and RSVP cards from them.  No complaints.

Airycuh:  my mom actually works at a graphic design company, so I ordered them through her work. I can give you the info if you’d like. I assumed vista print would be cheaper because they allow you to order a smaller quantity, which is why I didnt contact my mom in the first place. It turned out though to only be like $10 more to order through her and the quality was much better. It’s a small, local company but they shipped directly to me since I dont live in the same state as my mom.
