We’re super excited, last night we took the plunge and booked our flight, hotel and car rental for our Costa Rican honeymoon in June, for the first 4 nights we’ll be staying at Oxygen Jungle Villas after all the great reviews we saw on trip advisor and thanks to mrs brooch and mrs lox honeymoon recap (thanks guys <3). We are still researching where to stay for the last 3 nights of our trip, we’re looking into staying close to Arenal Volcano, so any suggestions from any of you gals who honeymooned there? We were looking at rooms at the Nayara Arenal but its a bit over budget for us altho it does look very tempting (really beautiful).
Does anyone know of a similar hotel close to the Arenal area thats affordable? Also any advise on where to go and activities to do would be greatly appreciated 🙂
YAYYYYY Costa Rica!!!!!

We are also staying at Oxygen Jungle Villas for our honeymoon in July! Right now this is our plan:
Fly into San Jose and stay one night at Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation
The next day drive to Arenal and stay two nights at Nayara Arenal
Then head to the Osa Peninsula for a four day stay at Lapa Rios lodge (I highly recommend this lodge if you like wildlife and don’t mind staying in the middle of the rainforest).
On our way back to San Jose stop in Uvita for a one night stay at Oxygen Jungle Villas (we mainly wanted to stay in Uvita because of whale watching – July is when the whales return to this area to give birth).
I can’t wait!!!

@KatieLu: sounds like fun, i’ll keep lapa rios in mind 🙂 are you renting a 4×4 for your trip to oxygen? we’ve rented one for the week so we can be able to go out and do stuff on our own, but also they told us we’d need one to get to the villas.

You have to have a 4×4 to get to Lapa Rios as well but their packages includes transfers to and from in a 4×4 so we are going to have them take us to the Oxygen Jungle Villas (we will have to pay them a little extra). We probably won’t rent anything else since we are only staying one night and we will be pretty booked and most likely will not have much time to explore on our own.
