You’re actually going to China to get a dress? How exciting!

Just make sure you have your bartering hat on, and a good tip for it, is to give a price, and when they say no, then walk away, they will chase after you if they can reduce further lol

I went there on holiday about 2 and a half years ago, they have a fake Dessy Store in Shanghai and fake pretty much everything else

Where is the best place to look for wedding or bridesmaid dresses when there if i have time?

Can just walk into one of those dress factories and buy a dress like that? I am Chinese, and have been to China several times. As a kid I would always think that the toys and stuff I wanted said “made in China” so sweet! I’ll just wait until we go to China so I can buy it for dirt cheap. Yea, NOPE! They make all that stuff purely for export. There are tons of shops that sell knock offs left and right though. But it’s tailored towards the Chinese tastes and styles. I have never been to Suzhou though. Just my home town out side of Shanghai, Shanghai itself, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Hainan. So I’ve never seen any actual factories.

I would also caution you to look into what it will be like in a hostel in Suzhou as well as what a train ride will be like to get there. So you know what to expect. Shanghai and Hong Kong are very developed, but when you go into the smaller cities it’s not the same.

Also, being an ABC (American Born Chinese) it is hard enough for me to haggle in Chinese and get taken seriously.
