14 nights at the Magestic Elegance Punta Cana all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic 🙂 🙂 🙂 We’re going in June so we’ll be getting the wedding insurance in the morning in case a hurricane decides to come through. Our friends just got back from Punta Cana in July and it looked marvelous.
The plan, lay on the beach, swim in swim up pool, drink cocktails, read sexy romance novels, and you know 😉 😉 😉 oh and eat 🙂 🙂 🙂
Where’s everyone else going?!

@icetea: Don’t drink the tap water- or use it to brush your teeth. bottled water only! In the restaurants and bars, they will give you water you can drink, also don’t worry about the ice. it’s all good.
Will you be staying in elegance club? i HIGHLY recommend it!
Eat at the restaurants as much as possible. We didn’t and became so sick of the buffet. The steak restaurant was our favorite. A few of the restaurants require reservations which you have to make at 8am in the morning. It sucks because it’s early, but at least try them once.
If you guys are big drinkers, bring large cups that keep drinks cool. The bars will give you the drinks in small plastic cups, and in the heat- they will be warm within minutes.
We stayed at the resort everyday except for 1 excursion. We did the ziplining and it was great. We also did a tube/banana boat type thing on the beach at the hotel for about $20. Take advantage of the kayaks, snorkeling equipment that is free to use from the hotel. We didn’t and I wish we had.
I had read many reviews on trip advisor about people getting sick from the food. I was nervous about this but we had no problems at all. We brought meds though just in case. We are also fairly picky eaters so we watched what we ate… didn’t really try any “exotic” or “different” foods.
Let me know if you have any questions!

That’s where we went this past June. It was amazing. I did a recap here http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/punta-cana-honeymoon-recap-pic-heavy
Il Botacia (or however you spell it), the italian restaurant was my favorite. Definitely sign up for the romantic dinner on the beach, it was really nice. We did a few excursions and my favorite was the dolphin swim. Visit Macao Beach (we went there on the dunebuggy excursion) it was the most gorgeous beach I’ve ever seen.
Make sure to bring some Pepto Bismol or immodium, large insulated cups for drinks, bug spray (we bought the 100% Deet kind and didn’t get bitten once, the other couple we talked to said they were getting eaten alive), and lots of sunscreen (it’s really expensive there.)
I hope you have an amazing time!
