Fiance, his mother and I met with a potential florist last weekend. Our consultation pretty much consisted of the florist asking me a bunch of questions that I could have answered via email and that was it. We didn’t see any kind of mock-ups or really any flowers at all for that matter. I assumed the reason we didn’t see any mock-ups was because I sent her a few of my inspiration pictures to give her an idea of what I’m looking for but Fiance and his mother were a little concerned that she didn’t have anything to show us.
She sent us the proposal a few days ago but my Future Mother-In-Law wants to see some pictures of what our flowers will look like before she puts the deposit down. I don’t blame her for wanting to see some visuals but I don’t know if the florist would be willing to put together the mock-ups.
Did you book your florist without seeing any kind of mock-ups or did your florist actually show you what your flowers would look like before booking?

I did, but I’ve seen her work at a wedding I was working. Totally opposite style of mine, but I’m not too worried.
Can you PM me who it is? I have a hunch, and may be able to help 🙂

@thewheelsonthebus: PM’ed you!
I’m fully confident in this florist since they’re one of the most popular in the area. I know people who have used them and their flowers were gorgeous but my Future Mother-In-Law isn’t so sure. I emailed the florist and asked if she could send me some visuals so I’ll have to wait and see what she comes back with.

@UpstateCait: I just sent you one back – I’ll try to get some more info tomorrow, depending on what weddings of mine used them I may have some pics, too which I just remembered 😉

I visited a few different florists who I talked to and at most they pointed to some flowers on display. From what was explained to me, they do an actual mock up about 4 months prior and at that point you can make changes and figure out what you really want. That seems to be the way it is normally done.
The florist who I booked was wonderful, we talked for about 5-10 minutes and than he ran off. When he came back, he was carrying a bouquet and made some suggestions as to what else could be done with it. That sold me, what he did in 5 minutes was amazing, it can only be better when he has more time and the customer service, couldn’t be beat.
