We went to Moorea and Bora Bora (in that order) for our honeymoon. Cheap is a relative word, especially when it comes to Bora Bora. Nothing is cheap there.

We used a travel agent because after months of researching online, I couldn’t get the price down to a level Darling Husband was comfortable with, so I reached out to a travel agent who amazingly got it down to a price Darling Husband could live with. Our agent is Aly with Goway Travel. Let me know if you want her email. She was great and easy to work with.

We went for 8 days and opted to island hop to keep the cost down. Our 3 nights in Moorea was the same price as 1 night in Bora Bora so the extra flight was worth it. Plus, whenever I travel I never like to stay in one place or resort the whole time. I get bored easily. We had a bungalow in Moorea with our own private pool, and did the over water bungalow thing in Bora Bora.

The food is very expensive. An average meal was easily $75 a person, so something to consider.  We came in on budget for everything, flight, hotel, food, shopping, excursions at $15k.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Tahiti, Bora Bora and moorea were some of our original Honeymoon contenders. We have been working with a travel agent and this was her proposed itenirary for us. Hope it helps…

FPI – If you want to Island Hop and stay close to your budget AND stay in the over the water bungalow, I would suggest 4 nights in a Garden Bungalow with a private plunge pool on Moorea and then 4 nights in the over the water bungalow on Bora Bora.  With air from LAX and daily breakfast will run $10,000 – $11,000.  Now…the Hilton has run a special the last two years at this time for free dinner as well with the over the water bungalow reservation.  This will save you lots as eating there can get pricey.

yellowshoe sent me the info for her travel agent, Aly, who was definitely cheaper than the other places I have seen online.

We haven’t been yet but just booked this last week. We will be doing two nights at the Radisson in Tahiti (the black sand beach drew me in to this hotel); four nights at the Hilton on Moorea with a deluxe pool bungalow (the deluxe just means it isn’t duplex style like the regular ones); and four nights at the Pearl on Bora Bora with a premium overwater bungalow. The total price came in at about $9,100. It included the flight from LAX as well as breakfast on all islands and all transportation (to/from hotels and airport and between islands).

I’m So excited to see posts on this topic! My Fiance and I are going to put our deposit down for ten days in the FP later this month… I’ve been talking to Pacific for Less and they’ve been amazing with quotes. We’re doing several days in Moorea (specifically because I’m SO excited to swim with humpback whales) and then Bora Bora and we’re contemplating a few days in Le Taha’a…. we’re spending a fortune, but have been saving up for this…. my wedding is hinging on drama drama, so I’m getting excited about the honeymoon!

Would love to talk to other brides planning this trip!!!
