Love the book theme & bookmark place cards/favour thing, but I probably wouldn’t go as far as books for favours. Depending on how many guests you have, it could get a bit pricey & book tastes can be very personal. You might be stuck with a heap of books that your guests aren’t keen on.

I think it’s fantastic and unique! I am a book person too and will read anything, but I think favours generally are underappreciated so it may as well be something unique and thoughtful like this than chocolates or a silly ornament.

I guess it also comes down to knowing your crowd… are your family & friends big book people? If so – it certainly would be a unique twist. But in my own circle, I think maybe only half of our guests would take them, so it wouldn’t be worth it for me. But if it’s a good fit for your crew – go for it 🙂

I love books too, but I agree with the first poster. I think you should go ahead with the bookmarks as gifts but just use books you already have for the centerpieces. Even if you get the other books from thrift stores, costs could really add up and for guests who aren’t as “bookish” as the two of you, the idea might not be as appealing. But the bookmarks, on the other hand, are a perfect favor and go with the theme of the wedding.
