The Hunger Games are very popular right now, I enjoyed them as did my step brother and my SO’s 12 year old sister!

They have lists on Amazon for all kinds of needs …. plus then you can read a bit about what you could be exposing your kids too.  I found this soooooooo helpful traveling with kids!!

i was going to say avoid hunger games – if they are boys get them stephen kings the walk or running man because hunger games is a mix of both of these with a teenage romance

Try any of the Rick Riordan series. The Percy Jackson series is great: he doesn’t know that he is a Greek demi-god, half human/half god. Then, there is the Lost Heroes series, which is another demi-god series, but it focuses on the Roman gods and there is some crossover with the Percy Jackson. Then, there are the Kane Chronicles, where a brother and sister learn that they are half Egyptian gods. Lots of action, history, very entertaining.
