I used to be a fairly serious gamer (mainly WoW) but have had to cut down recently due to work/wedding planning. Fiance plays mainly strategy games.

Darling Husband plays pretty much everything. I loathe RTS and am not the biggest fan of RPGs, although I do love the Fable games something fierce.

My favorites have been Portal and Portal 2, L4D2, the Half-Life series, and a bunch of Popcap stuff and indie games on Steam, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and the Infamous games on the PS3, Zelda in any form, and a whole lot of Rock Band (everything but drums).

I’m a sucker for old-school platformers and our NES is always at the ready. I recently got Darling Husband to play Zork: Grand Inquisitor because by some miracle he had never heard of it until I came along, and I own all five Myst games and play them through every once in a while, although I never really got into Uru. Darling Husband and I got House of the Dead: Overkill as well as House of the Dead 2 & 3 for the Wii a while back and we have far too much fun with those.

Oh, and Darling Husband, our geeky friends and I all went in cosplay to Video Games Live last year. Next year we’re hoping to go again as Soulcalibur characters. So yeah, the geekiness is strong in this one.

I am an FPS and RPG (mainly WoW) addict – I actually had to remove all the games from my desktop and laptop so I could get wedding stuff done … the gaming detox has been rough but no shakes yet. Yell

My husband is currently obsessed with StarCraft.  I am a Diablo II girl though I’m afraid to keep playing because I’ve never played up to the Level 3 boss before and I don’t want to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

@linguo42:Oh god … aren’t the Pop Cap games addictive?  I even installed the Pop Cap plug-ins for WoW so I can play Bejewelled Blitz while “flying” between points.  It’s like a meta-game addiction – game within a game … so wrong.

I wonder if there is a gameaholics anonymous.

Man, I’ve played everything from Final Fantasy to Call of Duty. I’m not very good at FPS games, but man, I’m a sucker for a good story. LOVED Half Life and Portal. Mass Effect 2 was a lot of fun too. And every so often, I’ll play Spore. I love creating all those goofy looking creatures! Fiance and I like mostly the same kinds of games. He was on a L4D2 binge for a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNG time, and he was so stoked when he finally got Starcraft II. He’s really good at strategy games as well. Every once in a while, Fiance just likes to play a game for the sake of shooting things. That’s where Far Cry 2 comes in. lol. I hate that game. TF2 is also one of our favorites.

Does anyone here play Rift? I just started and it’s so freaking addicting! It’s my first MMO, though, I’m sure they’re all like that!

I play a ton of Fable, Resident Evil and some other 360 games, but Rift is kind of my shiny new gaming toy right now, lol :).

Ugh he’s a huge time gamer. I only have a couple games I like and will be play occasionally (Usually I’d rather read) So his goal was to get me hooked onto one of his games before he deployed.

Fallout is now my weakness and when he gets home we’ll have to buy a second xbox just for him to play. Thanks babe … He thinks it’s hilarious btw. I also do the jumping and yelling and moving to avoid things while I’m playing. lol

    I thought I’d revive this a bit!

Both Fiance and I play.  He’s been playing WoW since it came out and I just got into it 6 or so months ago!

Fiance plays a variety of games, I play a few, my favorite is minecraft, but sadly as much as I’m interested in video games and like watching them I just lack the brain-hand coordination to be succesful at most of them. I’m reluctant to call myself a gamer because I suck :p

Darling Husband and I are both very much gamers.  We met online through one of the MMO’s we play.  We are both much more into MMO’s although Darling Husband loves to play first person shooters and some others as well.  My games of choices are (or have been) EVE Online, Star Wars (the newest), WoW, and Guild Wars.  At times I’ll play a tower defense game or 2.  DH is the same, but also loves Diablo, Starcraft, Civ 5, COD, umm… too many others to name them all.  lol

It’s so much fun for us to play the games together!  😀

Guilty.  I used to play a MMORPG that was text based before I met my guy for way more years that’s not embarrassing to admit. Haha! He’s always played WoW and got me started about a year ago. We’ve got a playstation and wii, so occasionally we’ll get on a kick of games for those.

FH and I both game, but I would say he games more. We met 9-10 years ago, and much of our early interactions consisted of playing Super Smash Bros. Melee against each other. Currently, my life has been absorbed by the new Star Wars MMO, but I thoroughly enjoy “lite” RPGs (been a Pokemon player for probably close to 15 years), survival horror, adventure platformers and arcade fighters.

That being said, I love watching FH play games! I’m a film student, so I get a lot of enjoyment from watching him play, especially games I don’t care for (don’t publicly stone me, but Final Fantasy and Zelda have never been my thing, minus The Windwaker which I loved).

Here’s a picture of me from high school when I was the selected “Top Five” reader in GameInformer. Probably the closest I’ll ever get to being famous in any capacity!

Both hubby and I play WoW. He played for about a year before I was sucked into it. We also get a little competitive with the wii games. It’s fun for both of us. 🙂
