I don’t care for the fact that you can see the outline of your legs and butt through it, but other than that I like it.

I started with sketching my dress too! *fist bump* I think your ideas are awesome, I would just advise you to go and try on some styles.  I know, I know, they’re not going to have anything close to what you’re imagining – that’s okay, it doesn’t even have to be wedding dresses per se.  But for me, the difference between what I sketched and what I ended up choosing as a dress (especially after we booked the venue) was night and day.  In fact, even after I ordered the dress, I changed the design a bit – luckily I just ordered a more simple base dress, with the idea of customizing it – so changing it wasn’t the trauma it could have been.  Hey look, now I’m rambling…

My point is: lovely sketches – just promise me you’ll try stuff on before sending anything off to be made, because while this idea is lovely, it does come across as very “themed” and you might tweak your vision.  Or you could consider getting a basic dress and then customizing from there, it’s also a way to minimize your risk or give yourself a few backup options if your first vision doesn’t work out.

That being said, if this is the look you’ve been dreaming of for years and there’s NO WAY any part of the vision is changing, go for it and post lots of updates!! πŸ™‚

@octohands:  Looks very Claire Pettibone-esque! “Olivia” is nature-inspired and has swirls:

It’s a little too woodland fairy for my taste (I’m pretty traditional), but I think it could be beautiful if well-executed.

@octohands:  No problem! I remember you from your post about your proposal to your Fiance, and I’m excited to read about your wedding dress vision! I think it’s great that you’re sketching it out to get a better idea of what you’re looking for.

@octohands:  Hello! I’m totally a creeper and noticed I hadn’t seen you around the boards lately, and I totally loved your treasure hunt proposal story!

That dress will look amazing! Especially the back, I haven’t seen anything quite like that before. It makes me think of pretty fairy wings Smile (and I hope that hasn’t ruined it for you!)

I hope you get this dress made! That dress is a faerie-lover’s dream, and you have incredible talent. All you need is lovely floral wreath πŸ™‚
