Hey Bees. Spent the day off relaxing, watching beetle juice, and cuddling my kitties! My days off consist of etsy, tumblr, Pinterest, and weddingbee surfing 🙂 I am far too picky and indecisive, which is what I have learned from this. That and far too picky. I’m shocked I settled on a ring that I still completely love! So, when it comes to dresses, you can imagine how wild my mind is. I can find an aspect of almost any dress that I like, but haven’t seen a single dress I am 100% in love with. Granted, I haven’t actually went to try on any, but I know I want something unique! My ring haa side details, making it a unique solitaire. I love anything floral. Although we have no actual date set, I imagine a warm seasoned outdoor ceremony. Any who, I am rambling. To the point.
To start I took selfies in a bra and undies, loaded them on to the computer, and outlined my body shape. The feet are still somewhat wonky, and the hair is just fun swirls. But, the idea was for me to sketch a design that I love on my body without the dress “wearing me”. I should note I found a dressmaker on etsy that does whatever you ask, well priced, and has nothing but fantastic reviews.
I had two ideas for the bust. The crum catcher ruffles, or a leaf overlay. (Hence, they don’t match) I want it form fitting while flowy. the bust will be a satin like material with sheen. The inspiration for the floral detailing came from a Pinterest post of patterned flower petals down the aisle. The swirls start at the top, and are subtle, but will continue to get thicker and more intricate. I am playing around with an open back, a random design of the same floral detailing, or, the leaf pattern that is in the picture.
To me, the style of my sketch makes the whole idea seem costume like. But in my head I am seeing a dramatic, whimsical, floral dress perfect for a garden wedding or theme.
Tell me what you think. It is just a rough sketch, no hard feelings if you aren’t a fan. For reference, I am 5’4, if that helps create the ‘illusion’ for you 🙂
