So here I am on my 29th birthday at work. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t have to come in. I decided to catch some overtime to help pay with the wedding expenses. Also Fiance is at orientation the whole day so it’s an empty house. We plan to celebrate tomorrow. =) In the meantime I was wondering what boring things any bees may have done on their birthdays or maybe any plans not turning out as thought?

I have worked so many birthdays. It can be fun if you enjoy your coworkers.

@missfrillycoat: work is actually going pretty well. I guess having the Internet helps and knowing its only a 6 hour work shift. I think I’ll reward myself with a new sundress today after work. =)

My birthdays usually come and go without much celebrating.. not that we dont try to, but my bday is Dec 28th so with the holidays and all, its always too busy to really do something special. We try but it never really works out. My last 2 bdays were spent driving the almost 6hours between where I live now and where my family lives. The last one was the worse tho.. we had a car accident 20 minutes into it (yes, at 12h20am) and I spent most of the night at the emergency room. Then had to sleep about 3hours with a neckbrace and than get up and get xrays done.. Everything was fine, but I spent my bday not being able to move my neck (whiplash) !! We had a good time anyways since I was very happy to see my family, but not the best way to spend a birthday ! ehehhe

My birthday is also close to Christmas (Dec. 20), so I rarely do anything fun with friends. All my college friends have left town by then, and all my hometown friends live and work all over the country and don’t come back until the 23rd or the 24th. FH takes me out to our favorite bar, but that’s about it. The past few years I’ve tried to wrangle people up but it never works out, so I doubt I’ll try anymore. This sounds sulkier than it is; it doesn’t really bother me much anymore. It just is what it is!

@Olive12 That sounds like an awesome plan. Would it also help if I sang to you? I’m totally willing 😀

I hate birthdays because I always end up feeling like I want more out of it. Now I tend to take a camping/ roadtrip- sort of “getaway” and do something that puts me in the moment, in the woods or at the lake 🙂

@Genuine513: Hey that’s some great family time. =)It’s sounds lovely actually.
@maudemaisha: Oh my goodness! I’m sorry that your last bday didn’t go as planned. I hope you made a full recovery!
@rosyQ87: You know I had a friend who’s bday is the day of Xmas. To circumvent people’s holidays plans, she threw a bday party for herself one month before. It was pretty awesome.
@missfrillycoat: Thanks, I’m good this year as my three niece and nephews just sang me happy birthday. The youngest is only 3 so his version has some lisps. So so adorable! I’ll take a rain check just in case next year’s bday is a bit short. =)
@cbee: Go for it! Sometimes you have to go all out. This year, I think it’s going to be a quiet year. With all the wedding planning and work, I don’t believe I literally have enough energy for anything big.
