(Closed) Boring wedding? No dancing?

If your crowd is all on the same page (religious, non drinkers, wouldn’t dance anyway) I don’t see how it would be a problem. People probably won’t stick around too long after dessert if there’s nothing else going on, so that should be expected. Are you planning to play background music at least?

My wedding didn’t have dancing or drinking, and it was great. Granted, it was a lunch reception, but I think dinner would be fine, too. We had a string group for nice background music, people ate their meal and socialized. It didn’t last too long after dessert, though, except for some family that stuck around to talk. It was really fun to get to talk to everyone, and just enjoy a nice meal with them. People are still telling my parents how nice our wedding was, too!

I wouldn’t make people wait. Most of them probably won’t have eaten for for a few hours.
