I think i’d buy a new one. Simply because I hate borrowing things off of people. I’d never borrow something that I wasn’t okay with replacing if something went wrong. You never know when something could happen to it, or it could be stolen or something.

AllyCRN:  I say borrow it. If shes close enough to be your bridesmaid than shes close enough to lend you her coat. I’d say buy your own if she was a cousin you weren’t close to though. Plus there is the added bonus of the “something old, new, borrowed & blue” tradition.

AllyCRN:  Haha, yeah, I can see where your coming from. I’d just ask your cousin if you could borrow it since you love it so much and you’d like it to be your “borrowed” item, I’m sure she won’t have problem with it!

AllyCRN:  I would totally borrow the coat.  I’ve been trying to find one to borrow myself!  I don’t have any need for a new coat after the wedding day.  You could have something else that’s borrowed to complete the requirements (I am weirdly all about this as well.  And my borrowed is hard to come up with as well.  I have my old, new, blue and six pence – and to make it worse on myself, I didn’t want anything doing double duty for more than one of those requirements.)

I’m also insane enough to think I can crotchet myself a wrap.  I saw a photo and fell in love with the idea… if I can’t, my aunt could knit me one.  But I’m stubborn and I want to do it myself (this meant I had to learn to crotchet!)

The first photo is the one that I totally fell in love with.  Though I want mine to be red and to have large brown leather buttons (so it doesn’t have to go over my head).

And I’m sorry for going so far off topic!
