Hi- I recently got engaged and I am of Bosnian decent and my fiance is American. We want to have a fairly traditional American wedding but will not be getting married in a church. We will have a non denominational ceremony. I would however like to incorporate some Bosnian flair to the wedding, possibly with some music etc. We are planning the wedding in St. Louis, MO. Does anyone have any ideas how to make the wedding reflect both cultures and specifically does anyone know any Bosnian DJs in the area?
I will be Eternally thankful….

Hi! Welcome to weddingbee. Unfortunately I don’t really know anything about Bosnian culture, but I think you can definitely make the wedding reflective of your culture as well as your FI’s. I recently went to a wedding between two friends of mine (the husband is American and the wife is Albanian), and it was so much fun! The bride gave the (American) DJ some traditional Albanian songs to play during the reception and her and her family led all of the guests in some traditional Albanian dances. We were absolutely TERRIBLE at it but it was seriously one of the best times that I’ve ever had at a wedding.
I say just stick to what you know and make the wedding your own using your favorite parts of both cultures.

@elmastl: Hello fellow Bosnian :)). I just got engaged to my fiancé a months ago and he is also American. I was wondering the same thing as you. Both of our families are supportive and respect that we are from different cultures, so we wanted to incorporate both cultures in our wedding. Did you get married yet? Have any tips? 🙂 Thanks
