Erg….that sucks big time.  Have you thought about waitressing?  Honestly, it’s good money and not always long hours.  It’s always my fall back job when I’m in between career or school or something.

I am a seriously uncoordinated person and I never dropped a giant food tray.  You get much better tips as a waitress.

But how about jobs in your field, anything you’ve been looking to get into and just haven’t had the courage to apply?

i don’t know what field you in, but could you like, offer to take co-workers shifts? you never know when someone might need a random day off and they are assigned to work.

If you have a full time position that is now being cut down, you may be able to file for unemployment for the hours that were cut. My friend’s mom was able to do that to get her through a short period of time when her company cut her hours. It might be worth looking into!

Try applying for partial unemployment. I think most states have something like that if you work less than 30 hrs a week.

I’m pretty certain you will be able to collect unemployment. The company I used to work for cut hours all the time and we were able to collect for most of the difference between our new hours and our usual ones.

You’d be surprised how much money waiting tables can be. I don’t consider myself coordinated, but balancing trays gets to be very easy. And i’d make like $800/week at an Applebee’s type joint. Bartending on the weekends is a solid gig, too–it’s a hundred buck/night kind of job at a semi-busy place.

It might be more than the unemployment you’d get!
