I’m using Tom Walsh at Club T productions.  I’m planning from Chicago and couldn’t run around interviewing, but I was happy with the reviews I read!!  I heard about him from my mother who contracts him for every event at the <wicked pricey> prep school she plans events for.  She says he really listens to what you want, keeps everything moving without too much talk, and doesn’t make it about him (this was my concern as I have been to many weddings with the cheesy dj who thinks its his “show”).

Good luck!

I know a girl in Boston who just started this really cool DJ company called DJour Entertainment. Her website is http://www.djourentertainment.com. She is super fun and awesome at what she does! She has no problem playing exactly what you want and don’t want.

I am also using C-Zone entertainment! We are usig Lee, we met with him and he seems great. I have hear great things from word of mouth and reviews. Also they give you a wedding worksheet that you can give them all of the songs that you defanitly want played and any songs you want on your do not play list.

We booked Curtis Knight Entertainment (http://www.curtisknight.com/).  Our DJ is Mark and he was great when we met with him.  CKEntertainment comes highly recommended so we are pretty excited.

We used Corey from DJ RMC Productions http://www.djrmc.com/ and he was amazing!  He was incredibly helpful and would definitely let you choose any many songs as you wanted but we left it up to him and he kept everyone out on the dance floor all night long.

We used John Zucco and he was awesome.  Met with us several times.  Made sure what songs we wanted and how to pronounce names.  When we showed him our mother son dance song he said it was a bit long and then edited for us then made sure we approved.  He also edited another song for us because we didnt’ like the beginning.  Can’t say enough good stuff about him.

You cshould be able to do whatever you want with a DJ.  IF you only want him to only play songs you want you can give a list.  We gave ours a list and told him to use his judgement. I think a good DJ knows how to keep a party flowing.  I find that the Ipod route doesn’t work cuz it can’t judge the crowd.
