How much are you looking to spend per person?  That may help narrow down the searches some more.

Not sure on prices but there is Vox Populi on Boylston St, Legal Seafoods @ the Pru, and Maggiano’s on Columbus Ave to name a few.

No way that doesn’t sound crazy!  I think that’ll be perfectly fine.  You’ll probably have a great time anyway at the hotel.  Some of the hotels (depending on where you are staying) have restaurants in them so you could even use those if you can’t get the hall for that night.  I see you wedding date is July 9th…I would suggest contacting them sooner rather than later since it is just after the 4th.  Hotels book up quickly in the summer and weddings are very popular in the city at that time too.  Good luck!

We are having the same issue right now trying to find somewhere for that many guest. My Future Mother-In-Law is hot to trot on having a sit down dinner which at a restaurant is probably not feasible; with a regular friday night plus 70 dinners coming off the line at once.  We might be looking at the hotel where our block is.

I cannot believe the hotels told you they won’t hold anything until January. I booked my block for my July 2011 wedding last spring!  Granted it is in Waltham which is a different story than the city itself but you’d like to think they know they have guaranteed income coming in!

I would suggest Geoffrey’s Cafe in Back Bay.  They used to be located in Roslindale but moved to Back Bay (where Laurel Grille used to be).  It’s really good food at a reasonable price – I would contact them about hosting your rehearsal dinner there.  It’s really close to Park Plaza, Copley Fairmont Plaza, and the Renaissance Hotel.  Good luck!

P.S. I’m not sure what you consider “reasonable” but if your budget is slightly higher, Mistral would be amazing to rent out also.  🙂

Have you tried Stephanies on Newbury Street?  You could also do something like Top of the Hub- if everyone is coming from out of town… You could also go fun and do something like summer shack!
