I think bringing at least one person is a good idea, just for assistance. I was going to go, but I edned up finding my dress at a store last weekend. I am relieved although I was curious to see “running of the brides” up close and personal! Like you, I wasn’t going to go early when everything would be too crazy, I would have gone around 10am or so.

Goodluck!!

Its easier if you have someone with you to help but I’m sure you can handle the dresses alone. you may even team up with another solo bride there.

I went to the Vera Wang sample sale in nyc by myself and had a blast. The girl behind me in line was also there solo and we teamed up to help each other out when we got inside. I didn’t buy my dress that day but I did make some new friends and have some great memories (and hilarious photos) of the day.

good luck!

I did Running of the Brides in August and found my dress. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had several helpers with me, even though I went later in the day and missed the rush. I know personally I couldn’t have gotten myself into and out of those dresses without help. It was also nice to have my bridesmaids’ opinions on what did and did not look good.

BUT! If you really have no one to go with [any helpful guy friends?], I found that the people next to me there were very friendly and I bet you can find someone there to help with zippers, laces, buttons, etc. Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am also going alone and in the afternoon, but didn’t even think about whether I would be able to get in and out of dresses. Oh well! I can’t really ask anyone to take time from work for dress shopping, esp since I haven’t enjoyed it all that much myself. I am sure there will be other girls there alone and we can help each other : )

Good luck!

I went with a friend of mine….we were there waiting in line at 6am!!  We actually made one of the pictures on boston.com!  It was a crazy day, but totally fun.  My friend ended up getting a gorgeous $5000 dress for $700 buck.  Not to bad.

Did anyone else end up going?  How was it??
