No. they are in Ca and Texas and the cruise leaves from Florida so that option it out.
guess what: Just found out another very close friends is pregnant.. Due first week in Oct. too.. Babies everywhere…
So here is the best part. My fiance and I have been together for 10 YEARS. We have 3 kids and when we finally decide to take the pludge on our 10 year date everyone gets pregnant./ you have to be kidding me. This seems like a BAD joke.
We wanted to spend the wedding money on a cruise that everyone could enjoy. ( especially our kids)
Our total cost will be about $10,000 which is great for a 7 day drip for a family of five plus a wedding. If we do a wedding at home it will cost that just for the one day and as a mom of 3 I feel a bit guilty spending that money on one day.
( yes I know it is a special day but a week vacation for my kids with our special day in the Grand Cayman just seems so much better)
Any other ideas?

I think since it is on your 10 year you should stick with your original plan…have a great mock celebration when you get back. If you have had your date set, then they should’ve been a bit more careful…my sister-in-law knew my wedding date, so she has made sure to be careful and is going to continue growing their family after the wedding. Your 10 year is precious and it’s sad that you have to be concerned with all of them when clearly they aren’t as concerned about you. I would stick with your original plan…it’s about you and your man and your family you have had together.

My only opinion is that cruises in October are cheaper because it’s hurricane season and the ship is usually detoured and you typically miss one of the port visits to avoid a hurricane. You’d probably have a better time in May.

Why not leave out of a port a little closer to home? I know there are a few that go out of LA and/or TX. That way maybe some can be there to celebrate. Is there a reason you want to get married on the cruise ship? What about doing a smaller/low key wedding at home (all involved) and then brining your 3 kids with you on like a honeymoon cruise.

Could you move it to like January of February, where cruise fares are still low? I’ve cruised a lot and I know how dramatic the price differences are depending on season, so I feel your pain. Prices also start to go down in August and September. Could you do like late August or early September? This is a tough one!

Thank you for all the feedback.
We are paying for everything ourselves and do not want to spend more then $10k on everything including a week vacation. I know to many of you that sounds crazy but as a parent who has just gone through the financial meltdown in our country I do not want to spend more then that.
For under $10k we can take 5 on a week cruise in the carribean and get married in Grand Cayman and hold a private dinner on the ship for 20 people and have a open bar 2 hours reception.
I have been shopping prices and can not find anything close to that. If we do a local wedding we will have 50-90 people attend. Just for a nice dinner it will cost $3000-$5000 Add in reception, ceremony, etc. it goes into the $10k range with out a 7 day vacation for my family.
Just sharing.. I really love the feedback on this site..
