Well, both my fiance and I are virgins (Im 19 turning 20 soon, and he is 23)
and we arent too nervous about the honeymoon night. My only concern is that I might need a minor surgical cut to my hymen in order to break it. I dont know if this is Too Much Information, but I have a septate hymen. I honestly dont want to have to get the surgical procedure done if I can avoid it. Can a septate hymen be broken on the first time of intercourse? Anyone actually have a septate to know??

I think that is something you should be consulting your doctor about.

@TwoCityBride: agree. You should speak with your gynecologist.

I would get it snipped by the doctor, if I were you. If it can’t be broken through intercourse, then it will really put a damper on your honeymoon.

maybe you should *ahem* try some stuff out yourself first. I wouldn’t leave everything to the honeymoon.

Talk to your doc, you could seriously injure yourself or him if he gets eager and tries to shove it in both!

I had to look up what that was… but I’m pretty sure I had a microperforate hymen. I could not use tampons before I lost my virginity.
In my case, sex was extremely (I have a low pain tolerance, haha) painful the first time, bled a little, and it hurt for the next week. But it was doable. So.. I think in your case you might want to have the minor surgery, or perhaps use a small vibrator to break it at least a week before your honeymoon.
Honestly, I’m not sure I could break it on my own so maybe surgery is the way to go.
