I’m also doing a boudoir session as a wedding gift for Fiance. My session is in July and I’m SO excited!!

As for tips on a not so perfect body, I have no where near a perfect body but I’m going to show off the parts that Fiance likes the best (boobs and legs).

If you’re self conscious about stretch marks you can always wear lacy babydolls, corset-type lingerie that covers your stomach (if your stretch marks are on your belly), boy shorts, a long button up shirt of his, whatever you need to feel sexy!

Definitely find some looks you like before your shoot to test out in front of the mirror. And remember your photographer will only shoot you in the most flattering ways!!!! If you tell them what you are self conscious about they will do their best to minimize those areas in the photos. Good luck and remember HAVE FUN!!!! I’ve heard it is incredibly empowering! Your Fiance loves you and you will blow him away with the photos no matter what you look like!

I think the wedding gift for sure! I am doing one as well but I plan on giving it as a first anniversary present. I never got around to doing it unfortunately. πŸ™

Believe me, I definitely have a not-so-perfect body and my pics turned out awesome!  I have my photographer to thank for that- she knew what to blur, what to put in focus, what areas to photoshop to make it look like I don’t have any cellulite at all!!  The only thing she couldn’t do was “melt” which is actually making you look skinnier, and I told her I didn’t really want that anyway, I wanted to document my body in a beautiful way just at the size it is.

Anyway, I suggest doing it either in your bedroom or a nice hotel room with white sheets and such- I really think you will end up feeling much more comfortable knowing it is completely private.  As far as images/poses go, I spent a lot of time on Google image search pouring over other women’s pics- just google pics of “boudoir poses” and such and a ton will come up.  Also, Pinterest- I have a whole folder just for my boudoir inspiration.

Here are a few of my pics on my photographers blog:

You can see that some of my pudge still shows a bit, but I’m telling you that my boyfriend at the time went gaga over these pics!!  πŸ™‚  Just for reference, I’m 5’6″ and a size 16/18, my problem area is mostly my belly/waist and my neck.  So, she concentrated on my legs, breasts, face shots, and any thing that was showing the belly area was either covered up by the sheet or I was laying flat on my back and it was a little smoother.  Good luck!!!  πŸ˜€

Oh, and as for what to wear, key things would be an amazingly sexy pair of heels, a couple pairs of sexy lacy undies, probably a sexy or just pretty bra, and maybe even a corset or something since you are concerned with your tummy?  Definitely try to have one or two really long necklaces, fake pearls or something that will show up in the pics, and I would highly recommend wearing false lashes for the shoot- I just started wearing them only for special occasions and let me tell you- they are so fun!!  And in the pics, depending on the kind you get, they won’t even really look fake, just sexy!!  If you want to go the other direction and do something more natural, comfortable sexy, then just a white button up blouse and sexy panties, messy hair- you can do a lot with that!!  πŸ˜‰  And don’t forget to do your nails and toes for the shoot!  πŸ˜‰

That’s awesome that you want to do this for him!! I did a shoot for my fiance as soon as we got engaged as an engagement present, and he loved them. A few things from my experience…make sure you are comfortable with the photographer- interview a few and see who you “click” with and whose photo style you like. Some photographers will want to make you look more in your face sexy, while others will have a more artistic vision. In my opinion, the more artistic photos actually look sexier- showing only parts of your body at once, up close, etc. Also, black and white photos are sometimes more forgiving and softer looking. I personally love those and asked for my entire shoot to be done in B and W. The photographer will know how to position your body to look it’s best-remember…their job is to make you look great so you tell all your friends and they book more shoots! Outside shots can be beautiful, but you may feel vulnerable. I love the set with a beautifully decorated bed with pillows, lamps, and a large framed mirror leaning against the wall as props…it looks gorgeous, and the shadows create some great shots. Lace babydolls that are flowy look great because you can see your skin through, yet have some mystery and if the material is loose and flowy, it plays against your body and creates movement…and remember to show the assets you love! (boobs? graceful neck? legs?) Laying down on your back with your legs up against a headboard looks very seductive, and makes your belly automatically flatten πŸ™‚ Most of all…have fun with it, and know that he will think you are even sexier for having the playfulness to do this!  Ive attached a “legs up on the headboard” photo for you. I only made sure the things I liked showed…my legs! lol. If you are upfront with your photographer he or she will happily work with your issues and make you look beautiful! Happy photo shoot!!! πŸ™‚

@LiseRamosMorales:  Thank you πŸ™‚ I was nervous to do it initially…but the photographer was great and worked with me…that’s why I was telling “pinkgreenandyellow” to go ahead and do the shoot. It is a wonderful way to feel empowered. Show the things you love…and minimize the things you don’t love…and the pictures will come out beautiful. I wish I could show more, but this was the only one I felt comfortable showing on a public site πŸ™‚
