katy498:  i took them, and my intention was to give them to my husband as a birthday gift but i was feeling self conscious so i mever gave them to him. Now that ive had a baby i look at those photos privately and think damn i was hot, and i am aiming to get as close as possible to my pre pregnancy body with some stretch marks in tow lol

I would say go for it, even if you dont give them to your husband, at least you have them for yourself. I wouldnt be uncomfortable with a male, but thats mee. The way i look at it is they are professionals and just doing their job. They arent judging you or thinking thoughts in their head, they have seen many different shapes and sizes. Have fun with it

Go for it! I did them and gave them to my hubby the day before our wedding. He liked one of them so much he had it enlarged and put up on the wall in our bedroom. It is a big confidence boost every time I see it. And I agree with pp.

Forgot to tell about my outfits. I wore black lace underwear set I already owned and some black suede heels. For the next par of the shoot I wore the knickers from the first part paired with a leather jacket and some high heel leather boots. DH loves the jacket and boots on me in everyday settings, so I figured it was a good way to add some of my personality to the pictures. To finish off I wore my veil and bridal jewelry with the black underwear.

I have a sorority sister from college who is a photographer so she did mine.  I got a corset from Frederick’s of Hollywood for the photo shoot.  I had just lost a lot of weight so I felt great about myself.  The photo shoot was fun.  Prepping for it was even more fun.  I got my nails,  hair,  and makeup done. Good luck with yours.

I think that price range is just about right for the type of photoshoot. A lady in my area that specializes in that type of photography charges around $300 for 5-10 images, but that price includes her experience it seems like she’s worked hard in developing her techniques for making customers feel comfortable around her, and she gives them some champagne & chats before to help ease tension. I don’t think being either female or male will determine how comfortable a customer feels though. It all depends on their personality, and experience.

I just did my first boudioir photo shoot this year for Valentine’s day (I was the photographer though). It was a fun experience, and what made it even better is that my customer was so happy with her photos even though she went into this experience having issues with the way she saw her body. Her goal was to do this as a gift for her husband (I printed some beautiful B&W photos for her and gift wrapped them), but I think it ended up being a gift for herself as well because she feels more confident.

There’s great sites online where you can get lingerie at a very affordable price. One of my favorites is lightinthebox. A chemise or babydoll would look cute, or you can do a bra & panty set with a lace see-through kimono over.

katy498:  I did a nude photography shoot with a male photographer and it felt very comfortable and very classy the whole time. I had mine done partly for me and partly for my fiancé. It increased my self confidence SO much and it was a lot of fun to get ready for it and the shoot itself. My photos were pricey too, at the high end of your range but it was totally worth it! I think a more reputable photographer would be more expensive but also so much more comfortable to work with. You’ll probably only do this once in your life so I’d say go for it!

I was not even happy walking around in a bikini before I did my shoot but now I feel much better! 🙂 good luck, hope you enjoy it!

katy498:  I did them this past fall and it was fun. I would go with a female photographer though. I know for mine there was 3 ladies and myself there.  The make up/ hair artist and along with the photographer a assistant.  They a few times had to pose me in different ways and so they of couse asked but had to put my body a certain way. And one of the poses I had no top on and had my breasts smoshed against a door for a picture.  So yeah when you are almost nude I would recommend a female photographer.  The pricing sounds about right. I spent about total $800 between my 2 look session and CD of 20 pictures.

katy498:  Ugh I would not be comfortable with a male photographer.  Your SO will ask who took the pics (my photog guarenteed it and indeed twas the first question my DH asked lol) and that may make him feel jelous.  I know it’s a whole professional thing and it should be ok but you’re supposed to be all sexy so here is another man seeing you only how your SO is supposed to see you.  It’s not like a male gyno, casue there is nothing sexy about that.

It’s up to you but I would not want to have that convo with my DH.  It may have spoilled the pics for him.

katy498:  I had gotten some done fro $250 with 4 or 5 outfit changes. Plus $90 for hair and make up and $40 to get my nails done.

Lots of fun and I can’t wait to do it again. The posing was uncomfortable as you had to hold the pose for 30 seconds and exagerrate your angles/curves.

I would def. do a female photographer….

I had a corset with tights, white lace underwear with a blue garter, a sheer black teddy which my nip popped out of o_0, then I had a plaid shirt that I didn’t button up. Lots of ideas on pintrest for poses!

Bring a pair of heels and some lip gloss!

I’m doing a boudoir shoot for Fiance to give him as a wedding gift. The book is gonna have my favorite poem in it!

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body.  i like what it does,
i like its hows.  i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric furr, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh….And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

-ee cummings

My former photography teacher offered to do them for free, so at least I know her! She isn’t experienced in boudoir so shes just doing it to add to her portfolio but I’ve seen her portrait work and of course as someone with a masters in photography should be, she’s amazing!

As far as outfits I’m doing one with a Yankees jersey/t shirt over lingerie, one in champagne lingerie to match my dress with my veil, and some sexy black panties with heels and either a babydoll top or a corset

I did one for my husband’s wedding gift. I can’t comment on price since my bff took the photos for me, but I had a book printed and that came to about $60 or so. I just rented a room in a cute boutique hotel and we made a small weekend trip out of it (booked my hair and make-up trial for the same time). If you’re going with a professional, they’ll be able to pose you really well and in flattering ways, but I just looked up photos I liked online and tried to replicate. I love the photos and my husband loved the gift!
