Okay hive, I’m in need of your support!
I was inspired by a couple of the other BEEauties who had posted the boudoir photographs they had taken for their lovies and decided I would go for it! The idea of looking back at photographs of myself young and glammed up forty, fifty, hopefully sixty years from now has really kept me motivated-but now, on the EVE of my boudoir shoot, I AM NERVOUS BEYOND WORDS! Any wisdom, boudoir tips, prop tips, or even just some supporting statements might ground me back from my near panic attack state… ๐ (Okay, so I’m not quite at a PA just yet…but you never know!! We’re talking bra -n- panties in front of a camera and frozen in time, here!) ๐ HELP! ๐
Yikesola I’m so EXCITED but oh so scurred ๐ (I just said scurred ::hehe::)

It’s normal to be nervous – after all, like you said – you are going to be in your bra and panties in front of someone you’re probably not too familiar with! Take a deep breath and get a good night’s sleep. The photos will be something you’ll treasure forever and you want to look your best! If you’re still nervous right before the shoot, consider drinking a small glass of wine or cocktail of your choice to release some of that tension. Don’t forget to have fun!

I did mine almost a month ago and I am so happy I did. Don’t worry, you’ll have a fantastic time too. My photographer provided champagne during the getting ready time so I had a bit to wind down and relax. If your photographer doesn’t provide a beverage, be sure a bring one for yourself (no red wine, stained teeth and all). My shoot was at 11 am so if felt weird to be drinking that early but I think it helped. Also, keep in mind that your photographer will be used to people being nervous or shy and will know how to bring out the best in you. Have confidence in your selection and yourself.
One tip my photographer shared with me was not to close my mouth/lips for the more serious/sensual shots. She said that she’s done a lot of watching and almost no Victoria’s Secret or other lingerie model has her mouth all the way closed. The picture below is alot more open than I kept my mouth for most of it but it was one of my favorites and I can see why she told me what she did.
Also, suck in that tummy. I forgot most of the time I was in a special pose since I was concentrating on holding that pose. I imagine your photographer is shooting digitally so about halfway through and again at the end ask to see some of the results. I know the screen on the camera isn’t big but you can get a general idea if something is working for you the way you want. We were doing a pose on a bed and when she showed them to me in the camera I noticed I could hold my head up a bit higher and not look so turtle-ish so we reshot that portion.
I can’t say it enough, have confidence in yourself, you’ll have a great time and you’ll love the results.

I really want to get these photos taken to give as part of a gift to my FH, but I am like you- so nervous!! I am not so nervous about being in a bra and panties…I am just nervous about making "sexy faces." I know that sounds a little weird…but I hope the photographer can help me with this. ๐

I took a friend of mine to do hers. It really helped her nervousness having me there with her and helping her get ready and such. So it would be good to have a friend if you are comfortable with someone like that. Also bring a cd of MUSIC! Music that will get you acting funny and let you unwind. Most boudoir photographers also provide champagne. Try not to be nervous, these photographers have seen tons of women in a bra and panties and some in nothing at all. Just remember who they are for and how much he will love them!
I wrote a blog entry about our experience with pictures from my friend’s session along with some helpful hints. check it out!

I love that you did that! I really wanted to do that for Mr Frenchie but I think he would be weirded out w/ the idea that someone else took the pictures… I don’t see a problem with it, but if its a gift for him then, you know ๐ SO JEALOUS!

I did them with Beth from Pussycat Pinups and had the best time. My husband loved the book I made of the photos.
I think everyone should do them – it’s empowering!

Woohoo! I did these and LOVED them. spray tan it up. low-salt diet so you aren’t bloated for pics. it makes a difference. wear thigh-highs, they’re so sexy! bring props. Tulle is a nice one. Have a variety of outfits. I went to a specialty boudoir studio (all women photographers) and they did my hair and hd makeup on my face. wow! it made a huge difference. I’m willing to share mine if you want some ideas! Some of mine were more risque (thigh highs, bustier, laying on my back with feet in the air. Also i did this one where my legs are all crossed and my arms are, too, but they edited out my undies so it’s very tactful Maxim!! I think it’s neat =]) to nice up close shots of my face and neckline. I just love mine…they’re empowering and whenever i’m having a bad/ugly day, I look at them and go "nope, i clean up nicely!". They make you feel good =]
