My boudoir session is coming up in a few days. I’m super excited, I’ve lost 25 pounds over the past year or so, but at still 10 pounds away from my goal weight.
This is something I’ve wanted to do even before I met Fiance, but holy cow am I nervous! So I’ve bought my “outfits” and am all ready, but in my anxiousness I keep trying to find examples and inspiration photos of boudoir sessions of women who look like me.
I’ve scoured pinterest and the web, but it seems like if you fall anywhere between skinny supermodel and plus-size, there’s no representation. I’d love to know what kind of poses will work best for me, but there just doesn’t seem to be much out there.
Anybody have any sources or advice? Thanks 🙂

I wouldn’t worry about it! Find the poses you like – whether the “model” is skinny or plus-size, and show the photog what you like!

Well, I know with mine, the photographer directed all of my poses, so I didn’t have to have anything planned in advance. So I think if you have the outfits you want, you should be good to go!
And yes, I know what you mean. My photog sent me some example of her work before I booked mine, and they were all little bitty twig girls. I was like, “Uh… hopefully you’ll accept my booking, lol!” But I actually loved how mine turned out, and so did DH!

Are you going to spalsh your nearly nude/lingerie clad photos around pintrest or the internet? I know I would never do it.
I would think most people get these done as a private thing which is why you probably only find photos of models and super confident women on the internet.

@j_jaye: I’m sure you’re right — most of aren’t sharing these types of photos! It’s just odd, there seems to be a gap between the super thin and plus size. I think it happens in the fashion industry in general (mainstream models are extremely thin), and then you have plus size models, but there’s not much in the way of representation for those who fall in between. Same goes for images of boudoir, I guess.

@howsweetitis: This makes me feel better! My photographer is great and I have seen some of her other boudoir work — and the women were not all super thin. Everyone looked GORGEOUS, I should probably just have faith that she knows what she’s doing and will make me look just as great!

Did you search “Boudoir poses” on Pinterest? There seems to be a very diverse group through those search terms.
