Both salads sound delicious! The spinach salad is a little more “foodie” in my opinion, but I think you are right: the garden salad sounds like something pretty much everyone would enjoy. Are your guests the kind of people who like goat cheese? If you have any picky eaters in your family, they might prefer the garden salad. It has lots of familiar ingredients that sound like a good combination.

I think the filet sounds like a great alternative to the chicken, too (as long as you don’t have any guests who are vegetarian). I think most people will be pretty happy with a choice between chicken or beef. Although that pork chop sounds good… Dangit, now I’m hungry 🙂

If I were a guest, I’d be choosing Sautéed Crab Cakes and Spinach Salad with Pecans, Fresh Goat Cheese, Candied Cranberries and Balsamic Honey Vinaigrette.

But, I love trying new foods and I love getting dishes I don’t normally eat.

Although, say, Fiance was choosing, he’d go with Roasted Chicken Breast and Garden Salad with Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Croutons, Monterey Jack Cheese and Parmesan Peppercorn Dressing. He hates trying new foods and always plays it safe.
