I like this post on Offbeat Bride … but you always have the option of not carrying anything! Although I know for me, I’d need something to do with my hands or else I’d be ringing them the whole time.

@MsMe: Areyou not wanting a bouquet at all or just not wanting a floral bouquet?

A friend of mine did something similar to this for her wedding it was made out of paper hymn sheets

My brooch bouquet with fake flowers:

My bridesmaids carried faux stained-glass lanterns with roses and a monogram of the first letter of our last name:

These were both DIY projects of mine.

What about a feather bouquet?

Some people use succulents in a bouquet rather than flowers!  They look pretty neat.

@MsMe:  I didn’t make them, I just googled feather bouquets. I’m sure they would be relatively easy though. Any craft store will have a selection of feathers. I’d just gather up enough to make the size that you want, bind them with floral tape, then wrap them with whatever color fabric you want. you could add brooches or other blingy things to the wrap, or use “rhinestone ribbon” wrap.

I second the lanterns idea. I also like parasols. What I wanted to do but had to compromise on, was, since we are having a masquerade, i was going to have the girls carry masks (the ones on a stick). Traditional groom interviened andnow I’m doing bouquets… but only for the ceremony. For reception entrance, they’re holding masks. 🙂
